2024 Draft Thread

Crikey. As a non touchy Jagga fan it’s a bit rough getting critiqued by Elle magazine reader.
Spook sharing his favoured reading source. Probably he thinks it gives him a cultured look.

Interesting that he uses it as selection criteria. I guess Elle's analysis is a step up from Hot or Not, so good luck to him

Yeah. I've been saying since mid year - despite Bungal's protestations- that DG is quite a ways off in terms of athletic endurance. He may get there, who knows.

But regardless it becomes a legitimate item to be considered never the less. If he can't develop long term, endurance based running under his legs, then we'll have drafted a HFF at number 1.

If he can, then barring more injuries, he'll be a gun mid.

It reads Christian Petracca like in his development once drafted. But there is a risk. The Dusty vibes, I don't see as much.

He doesn't have the stop and turn on a dime ability that the Dusty Dog had. Dusty Dog could turn opponents inside out with that. Might be a better mark however....

good obs. Dusty was strong and powerful but his number 1 strength which set him apart and made him a champion was his change of direction and burst. Same with Petracca. Lawler has demonstrated the power and strength against junior opponents, but does he possess that level of agility and burst as he won't be able to rely on brute strength alone in the AFL.

Twomey says we are very interested in Bo Allan and Armstrong is of interest as well.
yes, with 10/11 I think was the feeling

Although Richmond was not specifically mentioned by him he listed all the clubs who he thinks are interested in getting back into 2024 with 2025 F1s. I keep on thinking that this is where we get value by using our first 4 picks to load up and then trading 1-2 of 18,20,23 and 24 to get future 1sts and maybe a later 2024 pick back.

I just watched Gettable on the AFL website and Twomey was pronouncing Jagga as “Jayga”. I presume that’s correct coming from Cal who’s been following Jagga for a few years.

If we take Lalor I really hope we can still land Jagga. He's plug and play and will captain a side one day.

I think this is a serious chance if we hang on to pick 6. Will come down to who Melbourne want out of he and Smillie IMO.

1. Lalor
2. O'Sullivan (norf)
3. Draper/Langford
4. Draper/Langford
5. Smith/Smillie
6. Smith/Smillie

All the talk of Nth selecting Tauru at 2 if they can’t get a deal done with us.
