2024 Draft Thread

Trav at 10 or Moraes at 24?
Hard running loose kicking.

Its the combo that we can work here
You might consider a combination like that if you are trading down to get Smith or Langford, plenty of top notch defenders have come after the first round. The beauty of stitching up three players at the top end is you only need one speculative type to come good and you've hit the target of four core players from the draft. Play the percentages and quarantine the risk as much as possible and the rebuild gets done in a timely manner.

Interesting kid. Gets on people's nerves but a super competitive and well skilled player. Bit slow-ish but has Sam Mitchell qualities in the midfield. Saw him play a beauty against the ER a couple of weeks before the finals.

Hard to see us drafting him, but somebody might get a pesky, efficient and hard working player here. Has tools. Late pick value.

I see Concussion issue's like Trainor a bigger problem than ACL with Hotton

I think im going to be disappointed if we dont get Hotton with 8 picks inside 34
Risk of re-doing an ACL is around 20% for athletes. Even with 8 picks in the first two rounds I’d be very reluctant to take that kind of chance given the current state of our list.

What's the recurrence % with a serious 3 month hamstring ? It's pretty high isn't it, and then becomes exponential thereafter ?

Dattoli is good ,why wouldn't we take him ,are we allergic to good footballer's.
I just wonder how much freedom FJ has in his selections ,does he have to go for a type,or is he free to pick who he considers to be best.
FJ likes player's with composure ,and KP types who are competitive .
I wouldn't be surprised to see us take a KP forward at 10-11 if he really like one ,we need player's who can kick goals and take marks ,Mids/forwards .

Simple. There'll be others rated ahead of him. That's why it's hard to see us taking him.

I think he is better than what you give him credit for ,he is very good in all area's of the game, good mark for his height ,extremely smart player ,his only weakness is his pace, but that doesn't stop him winning the ball.
Anyway we can't take them all, whoever we take may they have multiple premierships bestowed on them, and the one's we don't ,who cares.

What are you talking about ? I wouldn't have posted about him if I didn't rate him !

You asked why wouldn't FJ take him, and I answered that there are others who will be rated ahead of him. We don't have an endless supply of picks Bungal. Plus, you said yourself that FJ likes talls so you're answering your own question as well.

Get off the Ballarat bongs Bungal !

Where will Mraz go? He's a February birth date but a tall. Still growing. The stress fracture finished his season. He profiled above either Whitlock at the start of the year and as a full back probably still does. Yeah, Whitlocks are versatile and that is good.

Mraz goes inside 30, doesn't he? FWIW I'm thinking some Whitlocks may go inside 20.

Other's rated a head of him WHO. Twomeys ratings lololol. And why wouldn't we take him. we have multiple picks .
I didn't say FJ prefers talls over mid/types ,l said he ke likes player's who have composure, and tall's that are competitive .
The great thing about having FJ this year is he's been following the boys since u16's and school football, plus he's made mistakes in the past with recruiting NICE types ,lm sure he won't do that again .

I'll have a carton of beer with you that Dattoli doesn't go at 24 or earlier.

Make it imported Stella Artois. Thanks.

I wasn't a fan in the first half of the year, not for our picks but not a fan at all. But I've come around on him, he is a competitor and he has class.

Is a footballer. I'm not sure he ends up a full time mid but he can definitely become a dangerous high half forward. Devon Smith like.

I was thinking a Toby Greene,Jaime Elliott type,he is a good player with all the skills .

Anybody going to do a Phase 1 Mock draft here

Need something to keep an interest in
After a little more watching of the champs ,my very novice opinion there are 2 clear standouts Lalor and FOS to me no real question marks look have genuine AFL traits , the next 6 in no order are Smillie, Langford , Smith , Harper, Reid and Tauru, after that I see 3 real talents that again have bigger question marks , Hotton, Trainor and Dobson , as to what order they all go even less of an idea tdt, however this has nicely killed 5 minutes .

Like most of the highly rated kpp , so hard to see into the future though
