and now Germany are out too. The side of the draw for both England and the Matildas is really opening up. Expected to have all of Canada, Brazil and Germany on that side of the draw but not anymore.

This has been an unbelievable tournament.

I snagged a ticket to the quarter final if we beat Denmark

Is that in Sydney? I think I got mixed up with my quarter final games, as I thought I was following the England last 16 game through to the quarters, but I think that 1's in Brisbane and the quarter final tickets I have are following the Matildas into Sydney.

Is that right?

Yep, Hopefully the Matildas will be playing in Brisbane on Sat the 12th, then in Sydney Wed the 16th. If we play England it will be in the semi.

To get to the semi, we have to beat Denmark, then France (or Morocco).
England have to beat Nigeria then Colombia or Jamaica. No excuses for England not to make the last 4.

I'm not sure if the schedule has changed though. The original schedule is below. The QF in Sydney is the winner of 6 and 8. 6 is the winner of 1D (England) and 2B (Nigeria).

Though now the Fifa Womens world cup game shows it as below. The winner of match 54 and match 56 which appears to be the Australia and France games. I just counted the match numbers down on the Fifa website so assume they are in numerical order.

Does anyone know? I don't mind really, I'm watching England in Brissy on Monday, might be nice to then watch the Matildas (hopefully) in Sydney the following weekend.

You are certainly right though, the draw has opened up massively for England, it would be a massive disappointment with how the draw has opened up if they don't at least make the semis, with their side being England, Nigeria, Colombia and Jamaica.

Matildas if they beat Denmark likely to play France in the quarter final. Should be a ripper of a game.

They must have a weird way of numbering the matches, looks like I was right the first time if Fifas predictor is right.

Who knows, hopefully I rock up and either England or Australia are playing haha

If you look at the draw you posted, game 54 is England and 56 is Colombia.

I think its Fifa being confusing, as on this list they have the Australia side of the draw below Englands so I counted down. Its annoying as they used Match numbers here for the full group stage and then stopped using them in the last of 16.

I'm pretty sure now its a Fifa presentation issie and the Aussies QF is in brisbane and Englands in Sydney. I'll just watch the earlier one at the Fifa fan zone and then make my way to Accor.

Fingers crossed for an England v Australia semi final. Would be epic.

gee, I feel for the US keeper...She did everything possible including scoring in the shootout..

The US keeper saved a penalty, scored a penalty and as good as the Swedish keeper was during the game, she didn't actually touch it during the shootout, but gets the win.

God damn, it was good to see the God damn's lose the penalty shoot-out.
