2023 mid-season rookie draft

Another flanker???

Yeah lets just keep Cotchin, Mansell and Graham on the forward flanks instead :ROFLMAO:

You're not going to get a 200 game key forward in the mid-season draft. If you can find a role player that adds to the depth in the senior team then you grab them.

Hmm, surely our need for a key forward surpasses our need for a small forward? Have to go with Hunter wouldn’t we? Trezise is a nice player but has played his best footy down back in our VFL and we’re pretty stocked with backmen. View attachment 19412
Unless it's a red herring, if we are into Hunter that must mean May is possibly taken after our first pick and before our second or we prefer Hunter.

Maybe. Honestly I’m not fussed who we pick as long as they’re a key forward over 195cm :ROFLMAO:

I suspect our own Luke Teal might be best available, he and a key tall would be on my wish list.

Read that the recruiters are saying there’s slim pickings for the MSD. There’s 43 state league clubs with over 1000 players. You can’t tell me there’s not some quality in there.
i think part of the point is there are over 1000 players to choose from. a few might be able to cut it at AFL level, a couple might thrive, but it is very pot luck getting them. of course you have to take picks to have a chance, but trying to fill a KPF need, or any immediate need in the MSD is most likely a fruitless task. (other than maybe a small forward- as has been mentioned, they sometimes do come straight in and make an impact.)

Also, in terms of need, we actually have plenty of talls on our list- quality is debatable, but adding more speculative talls isnt going to help our list balance.

Isn't Jaiden Hunter a KPP we could do with?

I'll hand in my membership if they redraft RCD.
Will Martyn has applied too.

Just go internal and get Mutaz. I wonder if Lachlan Street would be AFL level. Not sure Trezise is any worth.

Can he hit a target?
Yes, he's generally an assured kick, mooted for the rebounder role pre draft but has had a wretched run with injury. I think with a clean bill of health he's a solid selection, nice height to play in multiple positions and can also take a contested mark.
