2023 Draft Thread.

Did a search and also had a scroll through, looks like Charlie Naish hasn’t nominated for the draft. Not fussed, last thing we need is another HB/wing, and he didn’t make the Vic Metro squad or get invited to the combine anyway IMG_3688.png

They say 193cm, which is 6'4 and the same height as the Riewoldts (when Jack had spikey hair).
Don’t want to split hairs but 193cm is 6’3984”
Jack always maintained he was 195cm. His cousin Nick listed at 193cm.

No Cooper Simpson, interesting. Reminds me of a quicker Salem from highlights. Need to look at his numbers.

Think Id still punt on Ashton Moir.

Depends who we are trading for. A few spots to use a 2nd for next year. Nope, don't see the logic and I doubt we would do it with such an open field. Trading with GC for them to gain extra points this year (adding 2024 picks doesn't help them with the deficit they will run up this year).
Greetings from Florida Keys.

Like your creative thinking Posh but not so much your willingness to trade early future picks. Trading up to 24 and 51. Brilliant.

We have gone very tall in recent drafts but so far at little or no cost and with little or no risk. Colina, Hale Brown and now Naismith..

Things could change.
I wonder if Goad is under consideration, as I can see the game evolving into a tall, I mean a really tall and well skilled forward, whose main purpose becomes knocking the ball DOWN to advantage.

Not expecting too much out of Koschitzke whose marking looks suspect and who after a 5 year look, the Hawks have given up on.

Personally with 24 and 51, I would be very happy with Collard and Wickert.

Sorry I think you misunderstood me. There is no value in us trading future 2nd rounders in such an even draft post about pick 15.

I'm happy to use the few points to move up a few spots if we get the players that we want, and then see who drops for the later one. Its smart especially if we think the likes of Carlton and Geelong might be interested in the same players, it makes sense to use the resources we have to get in front of them, but I'm not advocating for using next years picks. Maybe if its a 4th or something, but nothing earlier than that.

If you offered me Simpson and Freijah right now I'd be on Phu Quoc Island drinking Mojitos come draft night.

Like reading War and Peace, probably becuse I already know the story. I like him, fantastic in the Champs, mobility is the knock.
What's wrong with his mobility ?.
He has very good endurance,he's quite quick for 194cm ,the knock on him, is his contested marking.

Is he quick? I honestly don't know, to the eye, I'd suspect pace and agility its not a strength, his testing could give us some more info. Endurance seems fine sure. Interesting re the CM.

Could he be around at our 2nd? Would be a good get with a pick in the 40's.
