I would place his kicking in the elite category, the extra 10 metre range can create huge headaches for any opposition attempting to man-up from the kick outs, think back to Dustin Fletcher and the raking kicks which landed on the wing - Arie has that ability even though his one on one credentials are still a work in progress. The comparisons with Balta are also a little misguided, whilst Balta always had the range, his accuracy sometimes leaves a lot to be desired, Schoenmaker is also an accurate kick and that can be put to good use at AFL level. If you look at a player like Wanganeen-Milera, his junior footy was largely uncontested too but that hasn't affected his output at AFL level. Schoenmaker's intercept numbers are fine so he's reading the play well enough and seems to possess good anticipation. The contested stuff can be worked on, obviously no guarantees in life but it's more probable you get an AFL career in this instance than someone like ZZ who still hasn't perfected the art of kicking.
