Mitch Thorp was the best example of raising the draft age to 19 or 20. He was so full of himself and equally immature when he was first drafted despite obvious talent. Got a reputation early on he couldn’t shake. Clearly doing great things now as a coach so good on him.Mitch Thorp thoroughly deserved a second shot at AFL level, along with players such as Haiden Schloithe and Jye Bolton he deserves a truckload more credit than he's received thus far. Definitely gets a nomination for one of the greatest injustices of the 21st century.
From what Matty Clark said yesterday in his interview we’d be looking at atleast 1 tall with our picks but would be happy to trade a future second for collard plus 1 of Morris or Reid with our second pick.Would people be prepared to give up one of our 2024 2nd rounders if it gave us a chance to land both Collard and Simpson?
For Collard yes.Would people be prepared to give up one of our 2024 2nd rounders if it gave us a chance to land both Collard and Simpson?
There was also the issue of a lack of exposure, Tasmanian players often disregarded due to playing in an inferior state league competition. Thorp was producing extraordinary numbers, he was played all over the park and he succeeded with every new assignment he was presented with. I think now we are just starting to appreciate the untapped potential in Tasmania, with development pathways becoming comparable with the other states the draftees are coming in thick and fast. Good times for Tasmanian football and I hope Mitch gets a coaching gig at the top level.Mitch Thorp was the best example of raising the draft age to 19 or 20. Good, so they shouldRumour has it Colonwood will bid on Will Graham with it's first pick... If true GC will have some homework to do prior to the draft otherwise they will be in serious deficit next year.
Curtin to drop to pick 9? surely not.Eagles looking to trade out F1 with GWS to get Curtin.
So, a Reid+Curtin quinella.

I’m a fan. Huge fan. If we can rookie him with our first I wouldn‘t hesitate. What's the knock on Kynan Brown other than kicking consistency? His DE was over 80% so couldn't be that bad?
Bit surprised why he's flying under the radar. Dees have nominated him as a f/s so I'm not sure of the implications if a club bids on him in the national draftI’m a fan. Huge fan. If we can rookie him with our first I wouldn‘t hesitate.

Not a draft watcher so keen to know why he's sliding so far down the pecking order? On paper seems to tick a lot of boxes we need.View attachment 21091
Be funny if another club snaps him up in the national draft. I don’t see why Melbourne wouldn’t at least give themselves the chance to match a bid mustn’t be that keen.
I’m not either unfortunately, just learning by reading things on here and twitterNot a draft watcher so keen to know why he's sliding so far down the pecking order? On paper seems to tick a lot of boxes we need.
Especially considering those with NGA kids can't match 1 until 40. We may as well scrap themGood, so they should
Having enough points to access 4 players in that range is nothing short of a scandal and a rort.
