Won't happen.Way overs. No thanks.
They didn't stack up picks to *smile* them down the drain.

It’s an interesting point. I think they have had difficulty retaining Victorian bred recruits in the past and that they are trying to build a group who will stay together.I dont think freo take johnson.
If your gonna restrict yourself to WA kids, they might as well join the WAFL.
Diversification. Victoria may have beaten WA by 20 goals and they take 3 kids out of the B-grade?
The chances that the 3 best available were all on their doorstep are miniscule.
Someone else will take him before us, but i dont reckon its freo.
Id like him, but i like The Sonz more
I'm slightly pessimistic but I'm reflecting on 2016 when Bolton landed in our laps, strange things can happen & Geelong have always been notoriously unpredictable. But in saying that, Johnson would complete the draft for me, I'd be happy with whoever from that point on because I'm supremely confident that Gibcus, Brown & Johnson will be core players. That gives us plenty of room to experiment with a few uncut diamonds like Goater, Knevitt or Fejo.Looking at that order I think you would agree that it is not possible with the picks we have.
Howes, Knivett and Feju look more likely.
Still want Johnson, but…
Getting all 3 of the WA guns in this draft would be a very good result for them. Makes sense to go this way.Fox Footy reporting a few hours after the draft last night that apparently Longmuire had a chat with Johnson.
All but certain to take him with their next pick.
Well, I did feel a little bit deflated yesterday because I suspected this would be the outcome. In the space of a couple of minutes I was praising Clarke as a Svengali given our options were plentiful for a full midfield regeneration & then we went and chose the flanker. If we emerge from this draft without any onballers then it's hard to give this draft a good grade but I keep reminding myself that there's still 3 live picks to go. If Sonsie & Goater arrive at Punt Road then we've done well, please let it happen football gods.Fox Footy reporting a few hours after the draft last night that apparently Longmuire had a chat with Johnson.

He's as safe as houses for a long AFL career, it's looking like Freo & Hawks are the big winners as I'm tipping Sonsie to Glenferrie. As I said earlier despite his disappointing last night I still think he is going to have a great career.
Not maybe a Bontinpelli career, but still great.
What to give up to get to Freo is the question and
the result will be that they will keep their pick and we keep ours.

I'd do that and then trade back into 2022 with one of our 2nds back into the Bombers 2nd next year (maybe with a bit extra thrown in)We're still in the race, that's good to know. Kangas 2022 pick on the table. Let's get it done!
Or 'who would you prefer to play for in Vic - Hawks or Tiges?'he might have been saying
'look son, go back to Subiaco and work on a few thing and maybe next year'
Yep,l think the Vic boys are a lot better than the Wafl/Sanfl boys this year, although the Wafl look like they have a few handy Kp's this year.I dont think freo take johnson.

Great story. The imagery that goes along with this is hilarious. Who doesn't love a celebrity ding-dong!Didn't realise who Darcy Wilmot's father was until today. Probably should have put 2n2 together earlier as he's from Montmorency, where his oldman Grant played and coached. Passed away in 2016 sadly.
Had me thinking of a sportsman's night I was at in 92 when things got seriously outta hand and Grant Wilmot, who was coaching Heidelberg at the time...... sat a few on their arse! He had a boxing background so knew how to throw em.
Funniest moment of the night was Sam Newman beating the hastiest of retreats to the door!
Strangest moment was Jeff Fenech coming off stage to jump in and help break it up!
Just to reiterate, this is from a phone conversation with a friend who is in the Hawthorn coterie. It’s very much in the “handle with care” space !!!
Somewhere in our picks tonight we need a clearance midfielder. That is my only wish
Was just about to ask the question. No one mentioning Roberts or Browne in the next round?

Not sure how you can rate it a fail. Whilst we are all wanting the next gun mid sometimes you just need to take stock and get the best player available. I think we have done that so far. We could do that again.Well, I did feel a little bit deflated yesterday because I suspected this would be the outcome.
