That would be a dream outcome.

I know, I know, 'tis the time to dream,

but the notion of 18 yo pimply kid ward

displacing hardened, dual premiership wingman Pickett at the height of his powers,

is ludicrous.

pobably correct, but not necessarily

we currently have only 29 on the main list so room for minimum 7 & max 9, dependent on how we structure the list

We have 7 rookies now, 6 Cat A & Colina as Cat B

We have said we will rookie Noah & Biggie so we will need to upgrade 2 rookies to add them in

This is what we are allowed
Minimum 37 players all up on list
Maximum 44 players all up on list inc 2 Cat B
Minimum 36 & max 38 on main list
4-6 Cat A Rookies
2 Cat B Rookies

Good work toothless.

My concern is that we would be very very thin on key position players. We need more talls developing than just Nyuon, and Miller.

I’ve had GWS taking Andrew early and Rachele as of yesterday. Mail seems ok.
Andrew - GWS
Gibcus - GC

The Callaghan talk is a smoke screen to see if anyone is desperate enough to the give them an offer to good to refuse for pick 2.

BF rumour doing the rounds. Probably untrue but its enough to past the time.

Pick 2 + 2022 2nd round pick to Hawks in exchange for Pick 5 & Future 1st to GWS.

GWS to select Andrew at 5(7).

AFL wants it done live during the draft night so wont be announced until then.

Hawks I assume then take Callaghan.
If its true its great for us.
Hawks>>Callaghan
Suns>>Gibcus
Crows>>Rachele
Giants>>Andrew
Freo>>Erasmus
Rich>>Hobbs or Ward.
Freo>>Amiss
STk.(Should we throw 15 & 28 for this pick if it pans out the way it does? I mean Hobbs would be great by its self but to get Ward as well.Would set our midfield up for the future.)?

1 month ago Rachele was slated as a 10-15 pick. At that Giants would have been confident to get him with 13. Walk away with Andrew and Rachele.

Now that he is rising they must berethinking Rachele will be gone by 13. Do they jump early?

I wonder how far Hobbs might fall if we got Ward at our 1st? I don't think Freo or West Coast take him (they will be on the WA's IMO), and I don't think Saints should get him, they need speed and I feel Sinn is their man.

I know the Bombers want to get back into this draft.

Would we offer up the below trade and then take Hobbs too.

Richmond - In 11 (13) and Essendons 2nd in 2022
Richmond Out - 15 (17) and 26 (28)

Fix our midfield with our 1st 2 and then see who slides through to those 2 remaining picks in the 20's. We'd have a choice of best available or go for needs at that spot.

I really like this outcome as it would strengthen our 2022 draft hand even further.
But, I believe Saints would definitely take Hobbs in this instance regardless of whether they need speed or not.

Yeah I'm still 50/50 as to whether they would do it. I'd think Sinn is the one in their sights though. The one thing they really miss is run out of their backline. Can they really overlook someone like Sinn? I know he's a bit of a boom / bust, but the boom could be massive and could be even greater for the Saints. With Crouch, Steele, Bytel and probably Clark to move into the midfield this year, their requirement for Hobbs is lower.

I think this is why some phantoms have Hobbs very high and others have him slipping into the mid teens, due to the lack of teams taking him. For example, I dont see Port taking him, nor the Giants but Brisbane are a chance at 14.

I agree with you that some teams rate him really highly and others not so much.
But I reckon it’s all irrelevant because I believe we will take him at our pick regardless of whether Ward is still on the board or not.

the really exciting thing about this draft is Clarke can play a straight bat and land a couple of 200 gamers,

then shuffle his grip down the handle and take a couple of big swings.

we've got the 2004 draft hand, with modern Richmond capital

This group is a much better batch of footballers (excluding the top 5).

I'm wondering if Judson Clarke will be one of those we settle on with our later picks. Got great speed and goal sense.

He's one guy who I think will be there, not a terrible pick, still prefer the others but they may be off the table
