Hobbs is the best, by quite some margin, think he will acquit himself well in a professional environment. Not entirely sure of the ceiling, I'd like to think he could emulate Nathan Jones, albeit with tidier disposal, which I think he has. Next is Taylor who had some crazy good numbers for contested work & clearances, he's also pretty well rounded so you are definitely getting a two way runner. After that I have Roberts who is workmanlike, consistent & impactful in that he gets first use. I think he will polarise many recruiters given he's not flashy or a line breaker, but his numbers stand up to closer scrutiny. Sheldrick should also be in the frame, his ability to contribute when the game is on the line gives him extra brownie points, his disposal is generally good & he can effectively play a lockdown role as he demonstrated against Horne-Francis. You might want to trim him down a touch because an 11kg differential in the height to weight ratio doesn't usually translate well at the highest level. There are exceptions, Dane Swan was a tank and if Sheldrick tests well with his 20 metre sprint then you could feasibly aim for something in this region. Knevitt & Ned Long others to consider but I'm still of the opinion that it's Johnson, Goater & then daylight when assessing the taller midfielders.
Is Taylor a reach at 15? I see him very much like Zac Merrett.

What about MacDonald ? You like him don’t you ? He’s going a bit under the radar but I don’t think I’ve seen a game where he hasnt been in the best four or five.
MacDonald confirms the depth of midfielders in this draft, a very handy player and could be available in the 30-40 range.

thanks for collating that Astute.

not outrageous to get Hobbs/ Rochelle/ Sonsie on those predictions

or maybe Johnson/Rachele/Sonsie.

I'd be pretty stoked

add JVR and Arfur Jones, and it'd be pretty jubilant around my keyboard

Can Nov 24/25 come around any faster? The level of talent especially up to pick 30 is pretty deep, and if we do end up getting a pick in the 20's off the pies or dogs.
That'll be 5 picks within the top 28, Insane for a team who has just won 3 flags, rebuilding on the run.

Yeah, if we get this 75% right it should be the nucleus of the next 7-10 years. No team has tried to do what we are.

Right on the cusp, I see him more as a guy you could get with some shuffling of picks in the twenties. Might be wrong but I think the SA & WA crop get snapped up beforehand. Players like Wanganeen-Milera & Draper probably go in the top 20. I would hope for a better outcome with pick 15 and that has little to do with his worthiness as a draft pick.

This is the draft that will see some players in some peoples eyes taken too high but everything is personal preference from club land. More than ever ranking boards will swing dramatically. It wouldn’t be ridiculous to have Taylor’s name read out at 15-20. I don’t have him that high, I have him after 20 but it’s not outrageous.

I remember he played one really good match ,he just crashed player's out the way going for marks ,he's a bit slow, but his ground work is ok.
If it was the 80's or 90's ,l would recruit him with our first pick, just for his attack on the player's
Yep, there's always room for an Andy Goodwin in my side.

His numbers are super impressive in the midfield. That’s what I look for. Plus he has the versatility to play as a small forward or wing. Very much in the Lambert mould.

What's the situation with Adelaide? Do they have exclusive rights?
I could be wrong here but I think that boat has sailed for them, from what I can make out the Crows have been keeping an eye on him.
Im pretty sure he's 20 now which in my book is a positive as he's closer to his peak age for KP types.
I had him on my radar early days after seeing some of his aerial work. I think he gets taken in the draft but not sure at which part, thoughts?

This draft shows how our draft hand has the ability to pick a few a little earlier than expected. We should have our midfield set for the next 10 years if we get it right.
Hobbs, Johnson, Sonsie, Taylor all types we need. And all very gettable.

Sounds like aside from the top half dozen or so its gonna be a bit more open than other years

Agree but I'll take it a step further I'm tipping there will be names called out that will have many saying " who? "

you beat me to it, if this works it could change the way list management is done. The key is making the call to do it before the drop arrives, otherwise you end up like all Clubs do & in particular Norf & Horf atm.
