2020 finals–week one: the other games

Then we would play Collingwood in the PF, if we beat Loins.

Can't see pies getting over west coast. Howe and Sidebottom are big outs. Like at AO, eagles will have 35,000 screaming fans pumping them up.

And Collingwood will still win the free kick count by at least 10

I want Geelong to lose just to rub it in Salty’s face what a poor finals coach he is.

I want Port to lose and go out in straight sets to shut Kochie and port supporters up about “their lack of respect as a premiership contender “ whinging
Have Port had to travel much due to Covid? Are they similar to the lions where they have basically had all season at home? My thought was outside the start of the season hub Port been in Adelaide most of the yr. If so then not surprised they are top but don't get the kudos.

They actually played 8 away games either at the Gabba or Metricon during the season, which was more than I thought. They travelled away in the last round to play Collingwood (Gabba), which was weird because people on here were adamant that the AFL was being unfair by making Richmond travel in the last round.

I guess you could say most of those away games were neutral. Like Brisbane they definitely had a home advantage though which most sides didn't. I reckon they'll make the GF, unless they play us in the Prelim.

Port have at genuine desire to win contested ball. They have players that don't shirk contact. Even SPP was throwing himself around last night. That is their one wood. Their pressure is good too, not Richmond but you really have to be on your game against them.

Geelong look geriatric. I thought Parfitt played well. I would love to know what uninspiring words were uttered at halftime. The Holy Trinity. Yep lots of holes in there alright. Forget Grigg, its seeing Knighter in that clobber that twists the knife!

The dilemma Port have is they won't be able to bring their umpires to the Gabba on the 24th.

Delicious!

Port played very close to our style.
Good defence. .Hartlett did Vlas work.
Talls brought the ball to ground for smalls.
They are strong in the midfield and run hard. They play on.
Tackle hard.
Very Tigers like.

We are more talented and with Lynch better up forward but they are stronger midfield. Boak is very good.
Hard to beat in SA and if we play them in QLD will be a great GF.
Port are the real deal IMO.

And....All bar one of Hawkins missed shots were from very wide.
This is what our defence does to Lions. No coincidence.
Port have copied our game plan to the letter. Interesting times.
Funny it has taken 3 years for a team to do it. No one rated the style. Thats why Port look like a team of ordinary players. .as others thought we were.

Scott just praised us

Said bar richmond no one else has a good finals record

He's been complimentary of us all season. Huge turn around. It's obvious that Grigg has had a massive influence on the Cats.

Geelong's recruiting has been shocking in the last 10 years, besides Kelly, Blivas, Stewart and Bos. They rest are matching us of the early 2000's.
Dalhouse, delist no good.
Stanley, ok but most of the time useless.
Did they really need ablett back?
They bag Rohan but can someone please highlight Duncan. Mr Invisible.
Rohan :rotfl1
