It's the first time he's been busted for anything though.

The only other previous 'stoush' was the questioning with Gardy over the buisness in the pub.

Forgetting why he was stripped of the captaincy?

:cutelaugh

I guess we've all been arrested for being comatose outside Crown Casino too at some stage.

As said these are the incidents the public is aware of.
He's caused the Weagles plenty of pain and he's lucky he's lasted this long.

On the other hand why Fremantle haven't sacked Farmer is beyond me.

Re: Ben Cousins threads and Poll [Merged]

i dont think footy is going to be his priority for awhile.

Re: Ben Cousins threads and Poll [Merged]

Has anyone actually considered that Ben's pretty happy it's all over and he can just go out and party now to his heart's content?

I mean the guy's 29yrs old & with the amount of 30 yr old retirements out there he was probably looking at the finish line anyway after the Weagles won their premiership.

It would have been a tragedy in his prime but he's pretty much done it all anyway.

So why did he go and get treatment for what his father termed a substance abuse problem?

He did have a problem, he liked to take drugs but he wasn't allowed to.

My point is that there is nothing wrong with the drug testing, it works and Ben knows it works. Therefore he seems to be perfectly capable of not taking drugs when he knows he is going to be tested.

This is a man who is in control of his drug taking, not a man who you would consider an addict, one who cannot resist the urge to take drugs. Ben was quiet capable of resisting the urge until the season was over and he knew he would no longer be tested by the AFL. He is manipulating the system to suit his needs, and the same applies when he gets caught, claims addiction and trots off to rehab in Malibu rather than admit to being a cheat.

Roaccatane is a weird one-that's an acne drug.

Yup, with unpleasant side effects (speaking from experience). Dunno why anyone would take it recreationally and he didn't look like he had an acne problem.

That seems pretty accurate to me with the addendum that he probably started losing that control at the beginning of this year when he let it affect his pre-season training, which is when the Eagles were alerted to his problem becoming worse.

Yep, I think you're right Tigers of Old, just saw the news and Ben seems very relaxed, had a few smiles, I am not exactly sure what he has to smile about, but it seems to be a weight of his shoulders.

What a waste, so much footy talent to burn, but I guess he has other interests.

I took Roaccutane when I was younger and it worked wonders for my acne problem. No side effects at all.
What side effects are you talking about?

If you take it before you started drinking you would be fine, very hard on the liver I believe.

One of my kids was on Roaccutane and thankfully didn't have any side effects but the warnings the doctor gave him put him of going on the drug for 6 months. Can have very severe side effects, internal organ damage, skin complaints, severe depression, damage from sun exposure etc. Still in the circumstances of Mainwaring's death he probably wasn't using Roaccutane for recreational purposes. :'(

Ben Cousins' Lawyer said they are going to vigorously fight the charges after Ben returns from further treatment in the USA.

Yup, I didn't suffer from much of that apart from skin complaints. It dries out the skin, the whole body in fact, I had to use strong moisterisers and lip balm while I was on it. There were a couple of other effects related to the general body dryness that I won't go into, I wasn't on it for long thankfully.

One of the reasons he didn't test positive was that he just went missing for a couple of days after a rage so that he couldn't get tested while the crap was in his system. Maybe not an out and out addict but a serial abuser, and mighty quick to jump back into the gear when things went pear shaped.
Wonder why he claimed to have volunteered for a drug test after being at Mainy's house and now it's alleged he didn't have a test and then refused to be tested when the cops got him?
Nothing proven everybodies just pickin on me.

Don't like the drugs the drugs the drugs but the drugs like me!
