He can thank goodness that he is white over there in WA.

What does being white over there mean feisty?

Re: Ben Cousins threads and Poll [Merged]

Maybe a year off, but typically the AFL won't want to punish him if he hasn't breached the three strike rule.

He is out of control of his family Rosy but ironically a football club environment with lots of people around sharing a common objective, is exactly the right place for someone like Ben.

I think if we announced that we were exploring the possibility of taking on Ben in the PSD with the primary objective of helping him overcome his addiction, that the AFL would be reluctant to deregister him and deny him that opportunity.

Hmm,I'm not so sure the AFL will deregester Benny Boy.

On what legal basis could they do it?

He's never tested positive to the AFL sanctioned drug tests. All he's been done for is refusing to give a blood sample and a possession of Valium.
There will some clause he has breached.

He wouldn't be able to refuse to do blood tests,I'm not sure what else but there will be something in the conditions he agreed to that will enable the AFL to deregister him for awhile.

...

He seems to have strong family support and I reckon that's his best chance of rehabilitation. Ben has a long road ahead of him and will need a lot of help. Still none of us are privy to the situation so I don't like speculating what's best for him or not. I hope he can get back on track and have a happy and healthy life whatever he does.

I do believe that people of other coloured skin in drug related incidents don't fare as well as caucasions, especially famous ones.

West Coast said "he has seriously breached the conditions & spirit of the revised contract"

I've been listening too, it's been interesting listening to the local views. I wonder if he could play WAFL next year if he's de-registered from the AFL competition...

I know that dude.Nizzy was talking about the Weagles contract.

I'm talking about the AFL.

Look the afl may well deregister him but if Benny is motivated enough he may put up a decent battle.

Benny Gale may have something to say about it too.

Doubt if he will be playing football anywhere

I would have thought the conditions were for both West Coast & the AFL thus giving either party the authority to sack him.Think you will find Benny Gale will not throw up any objections to Cousins being deregistered.

Re: Ben Cousins threads and Poll [Merged]

What a debacle this whole situation is. It's now being suggested that the reports that CousinS was drug tested the morning after Mainy's death appear incorrect! The AFL had not confirmed or commented on this test.

WAS HE TESTED?

Share your wishes Rosy but it won't happen without footy.

I don't feel qualified to comment about that but I hope, for Ben's sake, that you're wrong. I'm moving on but I hope it all works out successfully for everyone concerned. :)
