Could be the first person to be made a life member of the RFC after being involved for only two seasons.

Possibly.

On the plus side it looks as if Australian relations with the Germans will now improve.

I dunno if this is the thread to start having a go at Tivendale? The bloke played 188 games and afterall he did win 2 Terry Wallace medals according to wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Tivendale
What in the hell is the Terry Wallace medal? :hihi

Surely someone is taking the *smile* by writing that?

I wonder if he ever cut it up in little pieces in front of the players and put it in the bin like he once did with the crunch game ball after we got flogged.

Wonder what the crowd will be in rd 22 , might bring a few more in hopefully and crack 20,000...

This is BIG
Just heard that the media conference will be televised live on Channel 9 at 10.30am tomorrow
Will we ever have a RFC player that commands so much media attention as Cuz? 8)

Are you for real?

Cousins is finishing. Already stated that they are going to use the last 2 minutes of the video to show footage of his announcing his retirement. It's going to be so sad, lots of tears, heart wrenching stuff, and unfortunately the film will run out just before Cousins gets presented with his million dollar cheque. Seriously though, this whole media circus is exactly why I'm in a way glad we're seeing Cousins finish up. On form alone, he should continue, but I just don't see the point. If the publicity was getting crowds through the door, different story but it's not. 19K a couple of weeks ago. His crowd attracting appeal is over, it was a nice experiment though and I don't doubt he's given alot back through the teaching to younger players of his football experiences.

Richo played a few games with <20K people in the crowd. Did Richo have crowd attracting appeal?

In my opinion Hardwick was sucked in and pushed to spill out more than he anticiapted by the journalist asking him the questions, Mr Sheahan.

Hardwick was outsmarted by Sheehan??

I find that very difficult to belive prettyboy.

Since when was it up to Ben Cousins to pull in a crowd??.... We the supporters should turn up to games to support our team reguardless who is wearing the Richmond jumper?... and if we were half decent team we would have better attendences, having a Richo or a fired up Jack Reiwoldt or a CHAMPION like Cuz playing for us is a bonus... not the only reason you go to the footy!.

P.S. Ben has made us (RFC) plenty in membership/merchandise and not too mention female supporters coming along too watch our games!

Seems weird you question when was it up to Cousins to pull in a crowd and then state that he has made plenty in membership/merchandise and female supporters coming to watch our games. When Cousins was recruited, his crowd pulling prowess was commented as one of the major influences for recruiting him. And that he did in the early days. My point is now that has waned so it is one reason that no longer stands. as I said if it was just his football and mentoring ability, it would be a no-brainer keeping Cousins. As it appears he will be quitting, don't you ask yourself what are therefore the reasons for this decision?

Nothing to do with the team's performance against Collingwood the week before and the fact we played an interstate side on a day that produced hail the size of golf balls? 8)
