As Richmond keep improving, its veteran midfielder Ben Cousins is playing for his future and did his chances no harm on Sunday with 26 possessions and two goals.

"Once again he was good, he kicked it more today which was positive and used the ball reasonably well," Hardwick said.

Interestingly Ben's kick to handball ratio moved into the positive this week but his disposal efficiency dropped and his clanger count rose.  (16-10,  65%, 4)

The Richmond and Melbourne coaches didn't seem to think so. Dan Jackson was the lone Tiger to get votes from them with 4th most. The other 5 players they included in their votes were all Dees.

There is no doubt Cuz is gone and its the right decision

body language by Dimma indicated Cuz is definately gone at years end. I agree with decision we are ready to move on and free ourselves of his shadow and thank him for his good service. Lets not make a big deal about it and support the club it is the right decision !!!

Don't judge it that way. If he was gone, it would've been mentioned now just like other players who retire do.

There's only 3 weeks left so I doubt they'd leave the announcement to the last week.

Didn't read his body language that way.

Me either. He simply didn't want to answer the question because it's not his job or time to do so.

Agreed I saw it as Dimma saying "come on do you really expect me to reveal the decision to you guys now!". Dumb question that was never going to be answered.

Maybe only one coach voted for Jackson. Regardless thought Tigers were competitive for most of the match and the bias towards Melbourne players for the game seemed a little unfair to me.

Unbelievable how some want Cuz to fail. Youd think Cuz was the reason we arent in the 8 the way some carry on.
Cuz has done everything that could be asked of a player to get another 1 year deal.

I think it is just that some people are over-excitable, btoz.

Possible but a pretty risky strategy. What if the great majority of supporters and unconnected heathen from other clubs, who appear to support his re-contracting, announce a campaign to publicly boycot the game against Port and amid public demonstrations, only 5000 spectators go through the turnstyles at Etihad ?

This would bring some ...odd publicity... which could seriously compromise the clubs efforts re recruiting and sponsorship, at the worst possible time.

I suspect the early announcement is to announce a new contract but you may be right. Interesting times.
Cuzz to be offered a new one year deal on the eve of Rich v Carl battle me thinks
