Rosy and Scoop aside, who could be bothered checking what other posters are doing.

Heaps of people do for varying reasons.  Scoop has a set few he checks out regularly.  Maybe I should be flattered after all that he keeps such a close check on my pearls of wisdom.

And what happens if you open up multiple screens all looking at something different, which one is recorded as the thread you are on at any given moment in the Who's Online section.

The most recent action is what shows in who's oline.

Give Cuz another year Dimma ;) We know you really want to.
You know Cuz is a true leader, one that inspires the team and leads by example. Another year or Cuz is what we need! :cupgold

The latest poll (next to the articles about the doco) are currently at about 1300 votes and 93% are yes to play on.

Overwhelming public support, you rarely see a poll as lop-sided as that.

I wonder if the financial impact will be taken into consideration. Would be easier to sell Cousins merchandise if he was with us for 3 years, because hed feel more like a Tiger. Won't sell as much as Richo, but could still make the club a lot of money.

93% yes is massive support - even Richo was nowhere near that high.

No. ;D

What decision do you think the club will make btoz?

YES ;)
Cuz has said he wants to play on next year.
If its purely football dept decision Cuz will get another year . :happy :happy

You can find every posters posting history in their profile.

You can also see what posters are looking at through the Who's Online page, on the main forum page. It gives a description of what every poster active in the last 15 minutes is doing on the site (except for the sneaky stuff the mods do).

So Big Brother is indeed watching you...thousands of them, but only if they want to!

Cheers skybeau. So the only way of knowing is to watch who's been through your profile is to flick through the whos' online page all day.

Interesting.

Cousins is outside our best 5 players and will be further down the list again next season as younger players fill the breach.

He should take a leaf out of Simon Goodwin's book and hang up the boots whilst still performing but clearly in decline.

There has been much focus on the back end of his season as evidence of his ability but as an overall year his output has been slightly above passible.
Next season would be one year too long for Ben. In my opinion of course.

In decline compared to whom?

Put to one side the leadership he has provided on the field, his value to our players as an on field coach with his unparalleled? knowledge of how to best play the midfield in the modern game, as well as the inspiration he gives to many youngsters in trouble for one reason or another, who resort to drugs or alcohol, to escape.

Forget that.

But consider Connors, Graham, Grimes, Dea, King, Mcguane, Moore, Nahas, O'rielly, Post, Taylor, Tuck, White... I mean you could name all but 5 or 6 players.

Please explain why you think he will deliver less than any of these certainties for next years list.

Short of getting hit by a bus it just isn't going to happen.

Good thing football department decisions aren't based on popularity contests or merchandise.

I have already explained my stance on that in post #3356 of this thread.

If I believed Richmond was some chance of a flag next season I would be all for keeping Ben on ala a Crawford situation.
However I don't believe we are in that position or can afford that luxury.

Come on fess up you must have one of Rosy's duvalakies that tells you when I have posted. :hihi

I don't quite follow the argument in your post referred to. Baring second year blues Ben Nason should be a better player next year, if he can find 5-10ks of condition... But if you mean you can predict now that he will be better than Cuz next year, I just don't buy that at all.

Young players in most successful clubs make their way towards physical maturity while playing at least part of the time, in the reserves. Some exceptions but thats how most successful clubs build and maintain. Nason is a good example for you to chose as we are a physically immature side.

It would do us no harm to have Cuz helping out for one more year while the Nasons, Vickeries and Webberlies etc, alternate in and out of the team.

You mustn't have read my post very well then because I didn't suggest anywhere Nason would be guaranteed better than Cousins next season.
but he will likely be better than this year because of the game development he has received in the absence of others.

Anyways doesn't matter what I think. Lets see what Dimma and co. decide and support them whatever the decision as the club is bigger than any one player.

No I'm ok. Think it is only the Cousins bashers who are worried that he may go round again.

I'm actually not worried by that jimbob.
I'll support the club if they think Ben's genuinely worth another year just as I'd hope others will support the club if it goes the other way.
I just let momentai know that I've made my feelings known well enough already on why I wouldn't give him another year and thought it pretty obvious in the post I referred him to.

Like I said take it FWIW. Not everyone shares the same opinion or is as qualified as you.

Next season? If Ben remains fit probably geoffry but at Cousins age the likelihood of injuries much higher.
Whilst he'll be better than a kid, I'd like to think the game time he'll taking next year would be given to younger players development in 2011.
Take a player like Nason for example who's only going to benefit from the games he's had this year. He's not better than Ben now but he'll be better next season for the experience he's had in 2010. I do not buy into the notion like some that his leadership is enough to give him another year.
We certainly haven't missed the older players who moved on at the end of last season and I feel it would be the same situation with Cousins.
I'd prefer his place on the list go to a younger player who will be a part of the future.
He's done well but it's time to hang up the boots on a good note.

If you mean Nason will be a better player next year then yep we all hope so. But that doesn't answer the fact,
that like quite a number on our list he is physically immature, that successful clubs allow their yougsters to gain physical maturity in the reserves, before throwing them in, or at least by rotating them and that giving Cuz another year will help that process rather than interfere with it.

What is one of "Rosy's duvalakies"?

I guess that's where I fundamentally disagree.
I see the game time that Nason has received this season as a far more valuable an education than having Cousins on one hand supposedly teaching others, yet on the other taking away experience from another first year player.
To me the Cousins scenario is exactly the same as we have seen on countless occasions in recent years when older players in decline(no doubt Ben is) have stepped aside despite still performing to a decent level to allow kids on the upward curve to improve.
Like I said if I saw us on the verge of something special next season, mine might be a different position but I see us as still a ways off and we need to get as much game time into kids as we can.

We always do don't we? We get a little miffed when they make decisions we don't agree with but saddle up to support them the year (or week) after regardless.
