Playing some good footy. Will be interested to see the clubs decision.
As for his teaching skills, it is a little funny to hear people claim he is a great teacher of young men without any knowledge that this is actually happening. Was Ben a great tutuor last year when the world almost fell in or is it maybe Dimma and co. influencing the playing group??
Why can't people say Chris Newman is a great teacher and leader of men??
Oh I forgot Chris isn't a celebrity.
Let me escape to my bunker before the volley of abuse begins.
Just remember, I didn't take a shot at Ben I just stated an observation on peoples ability to be swayed by charisma and reputation.
INCOMING!!!! :help

And that's it? What has that got to do with keeping or delisting Cousins?

Zgod made reference to him being a celebrity. I simply pointed out he's a lot more than that, and probably a lot more than 'Chris' will ever be unfortunately (in purely footballing terms of course.)

Jumped on my bike too early, and I agree with your thoughts.

I think you're off topic here and no one here has any answers on Cousins' personal issues unless you're initials are CW.

Geoff I was referring to our debacle last year and not Bens personal issues. His personal issues are his issues and not mine to speculate on.

Newman has been very impressive as a leader.

This year he has even become inspirational on-field as well.

Love the way he sets the example for everyone else, Newman's leadership qualities are deffinately underrated because he's not a superstar. Has grown into the role well.

Interesting that Cousins didn't receive any coaches votes for the weekend's game.

Also when the relatively impartial Grant Thomas was asked on Footy Classified last night whether Cuz should go on, he felt that Ben had served his purpose already in terms of what he could pass on to the youngsters. Went on to say whilst he was playing pretty good football currently, he wouldn't be the first to finish up whilst doing well.
FWIW all panelists were pretty unanimous that this would be Cousins last season.

Although I broadly agree keep in mind that Thomas said the same thing about Harvey, he’s clearly not about to say anything different with Cuz.

I found interesting the comment by Caro that Cuz is being attributed responsibility for all sorts of things he’s not really responsible for.

I agree we should base our decision on whether Cuz should play on Crutchy who knows Jack sh!t, Lyon whos never coached, Thomas who had only 1 game plan when he coached and Caro whos never played the game.
Cuz is in our best players and if he wants to continue theres no reason why he shouldnt get another contract. Ambling got another 2 years for doing FA if we apply the same to Cuz he should get a 3 year deal.

If we had a full fit squad, can you see him in our best 22 Oldie?

Whilst I think Cuz deserves another season In do have the inkling it would be case of "1 season too many".

Like I said take it FWIW. Not everyone shares the same opinion or is as qualified as you.

Next season? If Ben remains fit probably geoffry but at Cousins age the likelihood of injuries much higher.
Whilst he'll be better than a kid, I'd like to think the game time he'll taking next year would be given to younger players development in 2011.
Take a player like Nason for example who's only going to benefit from the games he's had this year. He's not better than Ben now but he'll be better next season for the experience he's had in 2010. I do not buy into the notion like some that his leadership is enough to give him another year.
We certainly haven't missed the older players who moved on at the end of last season and I feel it would be the same situation with Cousins.
I'd prefer his place on the list go to a younger player who will be a part of the future.
He's done well but it's time to hang up the boots on a good note.

Why would we keep Tuck by that thinking ToO.

He's not part of our future either.
