Odd statement? Firstly, with Cotch and Foley in that team, and improvement from the likes of Astbury, Browne, Vickery, Griffiths and Nason, we should challenge for the 8. Secondly, what would this have to do with the Cuz decision?

I'd re-sign him because he is in our best 6-8. Simple decision

Agree its quite simple really Cuz has shown enough to get another year. Played a great game today. :clap

Also if you look closely he continues to talk to players, encouraging & supporting them in game time and playing some excellent football too.

I hope gets another contract. Time will tell.

In the hun today it talks about a possible network buyer for his new documentary to be aired this year or next.

If thats the case and the club sticks to its word last year about the doco then Ben wont be at the club playing because they dont want it aired while he is a player for the club.

I think Cuz should get another year.
His on-field leadership for a young group is fantastic.
He still has sure hands and good decision making, even if he has lost his power.

Not a bad game. At least he kicked the ball in the second half because he was handball happy again in the first.
Don't know why he won't kick when it's the obvious option.

Judging on his last 6 weeks your uncompromising bias may leave egg on face.

Egg on face? I'm comfortable with my call.

Ben played ok today and played his part in the win but I thought his first half was pretty poor tbh.
His preference to handball instead of kicking is almost becoming an automatic option. I think his stats were 14 hbs and 3 kicks to half time & I thought several plays broke down where the HB option went wrong in the first stanza.
After the team got a half time bake due to it's ludicrous number of handballs in the wet conditions to Ben's credit his 2nd half was vastly improved.
He played well and was instrumental in the win.

Personally i thought ben was fantastic today. I'm not going to go into people's view with ToO but he was instumental today and really is only a benefit to the team. He should be and will be given another year. He has alot more to give to the younger guys on the field. Despite his misdemeanours he really has been a plus for us on field.

That vintage play and goal from a throw-in midway through the 3rd quarter flashed some old Cuz memories. ;D

On abc coverage today they said the most compelling stat was his 19 handball receives eqating to a fair bit of gut running

Provided he gets through to the end of the season without a long term injury, he should be signed on for another year. If he can keep playing the way he is, he may actually be able to go for another two years and get to go out in finals. Nice thought?

Ben,

If you want another contract then its simple, just make sure your docco does not go to air until after you retire so in this case end of next season.

If the club does not want such a distraction if your docco goes to air while your still playing at our club.

So prioritise, the tigers for another year or the docco this year??

Not sure he is going to read this.

Tigers another year

Super smart today, can someone tell me how many scoring chains he was involved in?

Would have thought it would have been 7-10. Some great handballs today.

Just keeps making it harder for the club to flick him. Doing everything right. Watch the relationship between Martin and Cousins, Martin has a coach on the ground. A couple of times when Cousins was on the bench and Martin came off, he would do the walk up the boundary with him talking. Dimma is on the bench so I can only assume he allows and thinks it is a good thing.

Not sure, but I do know he received 19 handballs out of his 25 possessions, which tends to indicate he was playing a critical link role as an outside mid, a position we do not have an abundance of talent in.

To say Ben was Just OK, bad options, poor first half etc is an insult to Ben and his fans and the RFC.
He reads the play so well and runs hard to get the ball and sure enough 2, 3 or 4 opposition players are drawn to him like a magnet.
When our runners are in the right spot he dishes off at the last second for obvious reasons, if our guys arn't switched on it comes unstuck or makes Ben look slow, if this can be fine tuned and Ben is around next year with Foley and Cotchin in the mix
we are in for some champagne football.
Do you honestly believe someone like Hardwick would agree your comments?
At least you mentioned he was instumental with our win.
