You obviously don't know the answer either.

I was at the game and he played in different positions with different opponents on him. Why question who this opponent was when Cuz has inputted well for us?

Unless it's a KP player (e.g. Jack on Grima), I concentrate on how our players perform not how opponents perform.

yesterday was a poor effort by the team as a unit. It's hard to make judgements when the side plays so badly. having said that, Cousins and Deledio stood out amongst the dross.

One of the best things about Cousins is that he works so hard to bring other players into the game. His legspeed is slowing but his brain is way ahead of the average player. If he is fit, he has to play next year.

Lids is playing that quarterback role that Bowden used to emply, although he runs the lines a lot more.

Rawlings went to him for a period in the second half which perhaps suggests the Roos were interested in curbing his influence.

I don't know who he was playing on or for how long, but as a midfielder his 16 contested possessions would be a sign that whoever he played on, he was first to the ball. In his WC days he was never a big tackler, so I wouldn't be surprised if his defensive game was lacking though.

I'm not sure if we could judge his defensive game by how well a certain opponent went. Tackle count and pressure when running defensively would be the only way for supporters to know, unless we had the same info that Dimma does.

I thought he applied good pressure in pack situations, but I didnt notice whether he ran defensively etc.

At 32 years of age he was polled as the AFL's most sexiest player. Not good for the young ones. ;D

I don't understand why you are going on and on about it. He was one of our best couple of players on a pretty low day for the club.

Makes me laugh, lot of slight jabs in the Cousins direction even when he is best on across most forms of media.

Just come out and say your piece that you never wanted him, don't like him, think he is a snob. Stop lurking in the shadows. Cousins rolled with Cunnington, Swallow, Rawlings and Harvey at different stages of the first half. Didn't sit on anyone.

Deledio was on Adams early, of that I am %100 sure. Gave him too much leg rope.

The responses are amusing. I wasn't judging Ben in any way. I asked the question because Scoop's comment brought to mind a discussion I heard on the radio but couldn't remember the name.

It's interesting that tackle numbers are in vogue on here recently. When I used to mention Krak's tackles I was repeately reminded that was a bad thing because it meant he was second to the ball. Changing of the game.

You've made similar accusations before about me before but never once backed them up with evidence when asked.

Rosy, Posts 14,16 and 41 on this thread were hardly an indicator of an open mind on the subject. Don't know where the snob part chimes in though.

As I said earlier, I love the way he plays a team oriented game by bringing other players into the contest. He has that ability to hold the ball a little bit longer then take a better option.

Who are you to judge an "open mind"? If having voting either way on a poll indicates lack of an open mind then most would be guilty of that. Ridiculous. Guilty of that yourself aren't you? Those early posts you quote were from before Ben bacame a Tiger. I voted against it when it was asked on a poll. I did the same when there was similar discussion about hiring Wallace. Doesn't mean I didn't support them after they became Tigers. As for post 41 you mention it was in regard to trading Cogs for Cousins. I don't know what you're trying to read into the fact I would prefer Cogs.

"Never wanted him" is a big call based on a pre-draft poll.
"Don't like him" back that one up. How would you or scoop know who someone likes or not?
"Snob" :blah

Scoop was suggesting you never wanted him and don't like him. All very well for you to sit a top your high horse, but your early posts I have referred you to clearly suggest you didnt want him, and I've seen nothing to suggest that opinion has changed ?

Or do you want him to continue to influence our young players in 2011. Subject to his fitness I certainly do as all indicators are that the influence you were so concerned about has been a positive rather than a negative.

Was he? He didn't mention names but thanks for clarifying. You chose to support that his claims with quotes from before Ben was even a Tiger. You said you don't know where the snob bit chimes in suggesting you agreed with the other two claims. You chose to involve yourself in the discussion so funny you put it back on scoop.

Never wanted him, don't know him, don't care if he's the biggest snob in the land.

I see a player who's on the way out and am surprised others can't see it.

Fortunately I think the club can.

Not just Rosy, others as well. At this stage I just don't see why people are still looking for reasons to tear down the Ben Cousins era. It raked in dollars, got us more coverage and good will then anything else we have done in the past 20 years and has given the next generation of Tiger champs the chance to play with one of the best onballers of the past 25 years. Not a bad word has come out of the club on him and from what I hear those within the playing group and power brokers around the place think very highly of Ben. I don't agree with all the choices the bloke has made in his life but I do admire the internal drive and fierce desire to compete that has pulled his life back together. It is a amazing era and something that wouldn't have happened without the RFC. It should be something that the club and supporters hang there hat on. For me it has been one of the highlights of supporting the Tigers over the past 30 plus years, not much else to hang our hats on. ;D

To pot the bloke after his efforts yesterday, just seems really petty and small. Yesterday should be a positive not something that is seen as a further nail in his AFL coffin. The last 4 games BC has played have all been above average and in shape or for has been carried. All this talk of him taking away a spot from a youngster is rubbish. We have no one at Coburg ready, we have a shortage of onballers in fact. And even if we get three or four more onballers next year don't you think a year running around watching and learning what Cousin's does would be a coup. It's not a done deal that he plays in 2011 but yesterday made the choice that much harder.

And the thing is, their is nothing wrong with saying what you think, it's just the pot shots trying to pick holes. And let me add good on ToO for having a view and sticking to it, doesn't mean I agree with it but his cards are on the table.
