I'm baffled by the club's lack of interest in Cousins,

There's been plenty of discussion about Cousins bowee...I'll merge your thread with some of the others on the topic. :)

The question is, will he get picked up by anyone ?

Maybe not. Sponsors obviously won't want him with the ROos & Lions going cold.
Up to the Aints board.

I think they are nuts if they pick him up personally. If anyone needs to focus on rebuilding it's St Kilda.

St Kilda should get sponsored by The Reject Shop.

Why take this addict at 30 years of age who'll be back with his old booze mate in Gardiner?

More trouble for the Aints I reckon.

I personally think the Saints have been very stupid on this whole Cousins thing. They went at him hard right from the start, where as other clubs took a more cautious approach. I think a lot can be read into the Magpies pulling out of recruiting him, then it being revealed that they hired a Private Investigator to do some digging. The PI must have found something.

For mine, the Saints have done what they always do, and have put themselves in virtually a no win situation. If they pick up Cousins and things go bad, they look like idiots. They will also find it tough to dump Cousins under this scenario. If they don't pick him up, they will look like bad guys not giving him another chance. Then there is the slim chance that things might actually work out, but you question what they will have gained. Up to 2 years of decent footy from a once champion. Sounds like a B Grade bush team approach to me.

Wax

So Benny Boy didnt have enough hair on his body for a hair test. Anywhere.

In my book, any bloke who waxes the tackle, the 'taint and the crack either:

1. Is a porn star.
2. Has something to hide.
3. Likes hiding something down back (if you know what I mean).

And Nixon is blaming the world at large for not informing them of the rules. Please!

Had a good chat to a very well respected AFL footballer at a function I was at Saturday night. Someone who doesn't search headlines and is a striaght shooter who has never let anything out of his lips unless it was gospel. Let's just say that I am now of the firm belief that the Cousins saga well not end well.

smart move i reckon....let's see benny's smug smile now.

Hard to feel for the guy when he has had all that support while other mere mortals manage to drag themselves out of the gutter and habit with little or in many caes, no support other than a strong will.

Apparently Voss has flown over to Perth to talk with him

In relation to the talk of sponsors not wanting their products associated with bad eggs.
I think back to 2 Collingwood incidents in the last couple of years. Firstly, the Didak- Hudson incident & also the Shaw-Didak drink driving fiasco.
Collingwood I don't believe have lost any of their sponsors over these issues.
Secondly, when I remember the press conferences that were held, all were held with the back drop of the sponsors logos. Would the sponsors have been consulted as to whether or not they are comfortable with their logos being displayed whilst the club is explaining these incidents? If they were they are obviously happy for any exposure. If not, being 'associated' hasn't affected their current deals.
