World Cup 2018

Dominating but squandering great chances. Wonder if Timmy would have taken advantage.

One thing you can say about Cahill. He is the only player in our squad who has shown that he can consistently score goals at international level. Whether he still can is up for debate but what do we have to lose now?

HT down 1-0

Throw caution to the wind now. Bring the kid on and Cahill.

Go for broke.

Aus biggest issue is strike talent. plenty of ball but the lack of finishing as highlighted by Tigerman is our Achilles heel.

Disappointing, particularly the selections from Bert. The first 2 games we went a goal down. Yet in the 3rd game he has gone for the same line up save for Juric replacing the injured Nabbout which is like for like anyway.

Surprise surprise we are a goal down again. Really thought he would have changed it up with Arzani and maybe Cahill to try and get us on the front foot. But the same line up gives the same result. Very conservative coaching.

Anyway looks like we’re screwed. Given we haven’t scored a goal in general play in 2.5 games not sure how we can conjure 2 in a half. Hopefully we’ll get 2 penalties.

Yep nothing to lose now - bring em both on

Surely Bert has to start the second half with either Cahill or Arzani. I'm not expecting him to though, he seems very set in his ways.

That's surely it !

Got sucked in by their performances prior to the world cup.

Gutted.

Just so easy.

Peru 2- 0 Aus

It's time Bert, get them on, we're two nil down.

Pffffftttt too little too late Bert. We’ve got as much chance of scoring 3 goals in the second half as GC17 winning the flag this year.

How much did we pay this Dutch chump to give us no goals in general play and last in the group stage? Graham Arnold could have done that for quarter the price.

that's it. We have won twice in 15 starts at this level. Shows how far below the standard we are. Minnows as they say.

We will always be World Cup fodder until we can somehow get a couple of top clas strikers who can put the ball in the net.

Juric is hopeless. Geriatric Cahill has looked more likely to score than him in the 5 minutes he’s been on the park.
