What's Elon Musk up to today…

Come on now. Too many bleaters and sooks wanted the US Election thread closed down. Don’t come on here sneakily for some potshots. Plenty of itchy trigger fingers ;)You know you’re all dying to, seeing the VP put in a smooth performance. But still didn’t answer a question put to her. ;):giggle:

I thought Elon already had a fling with Taytaytay. Along with Johnny Depps ex and a few others.

Will this affect Tesla sales? I have no idea. Traditionally tycoons had a hard and fast rule to not openly support a side, encompassed in the Michael Jordan quote when he was asked to endorse the Dems: 'Republicans buy shoes too". But trumpism has thrown tradition out the window so who knows. But a decent slab of his customers would have been progressives.

His bigger worry will be when Drumpf places tariffs on all the imported goods from the overseas suppliers that he uses - which is what half of all Tesla's are made from.

That will then send the price of his junk cars soaring when sales are already declining because of the uncompetitive price that Tesla's are running at.

He's a moron.

Having said that, I'm sure his best new mate will cut him an host of exemptions.

I read somewhere that Tesla's competitors rely on government funding for their EVs more than Tesla, so Musk week be happy for gov aid to cease.

Tesla are also currently being investigated by multiple government agencies due to deaths caused by their driverless technology. Fair curve this investigations will cease.

Yeah, which will mean bigger US manufacturers like GM and Ford will become less competitive in an already struggling market because of costs. And gee guess who stands to have to lay off more people to remain competitive - and in which states too that he's been promising to bring back automotive jobs in since 2016 ? GM and Ford.

Michigan and Detroit, PA, you absolute suckers.

They’ve been taken for a ride, but they fell for it and the MAGA cult leaders got the outcome they wanted.

Just on the tariffs - how happy will people be paying more for their iPhones and just about everything else. A hell of a lot of stuff is made in China and the US is quite reliant on China as a source of cheap manufacturing.

You can't just magic manufacturing out of nothing, it takes time and money to build up manufacturing.

Sadly, the Western world has spent the last 50 years shipping most of it's manufacturing to cheap n cheerful Asia. Get stuff made cheaper, quicker, less union issues, less govt regulations, less manual labour n dirty hard physical input for the educated n privileged, less air n noise pollution, less huge factory eye sores on the landscape. Off to Japan,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Korea,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,China,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,India, Vietnam, Indonesia,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, still plenty of other countries in need of employment and income for the populace.

Clearly you DONT understand Trumponomics- the countries the tariffs are imposed on pay them. US consumers wont see prices rise a cent.
