Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

Gotta be honest, i thought he was woeful. Works very hard and competes is disposal was just horrible.

Yep the fact is we won so all is forgiven. If we had lost PRE would have been unanimous in demanding his head on a stick. Watch the sentiment change next week if he puts in another performance like that and we lose. Despite the pressure he exerts he is a liability every time he has the ball.

Apart from disposal , He was good and really pressured the fwds

Kid was everywhere and really had them worried

just needs to get the disposal issue sorted

One of the best worst finals games you'll see, busted his absolute clacker, did some brilliant , did some woeful. Well done Georgie

i'm not a fan due to his disposal but the role he plays can't be replicated by bolton - george often plays tall and he plays it well when not one on one - he's due a break out game - let's hope it's next saturday...

Was really good until he had to dispose. Therein lies the problem. Plug in Bolton next year. But congratulations to Castagna for playing a whole season and making a grand final.

Did he have an effective kick for the game, other than the goal from the goalsquare? Seemed like every kick he butchered.

But his work off the ball was fantastic.

Was diabolical at times but actually did enough

What I take away from this game is that he did have an impact against great opposition and when the heat was on. So if he could just improve on what he does with the footy... we would really have a player.

Damn if he loses his spot to Shai he is going to eat them alive at VFL level. Becomes a good trade prospect that scenario. Lennon and Lloyd fit that category now. I can't see us changing our high pressure formula so...

Was absolutely shocking. If Bolton plays a blinder today straight in. You can't carry a guy with the worst disposal in the AFL.

I am his biggest defender but that shot at the Punt Road end was inexcusable.

Checkside on a 45 degree angle and 25m out?

Gimme a spell.

George - take a deep breath. Make sure of every kick.

I want him to play in the GF because he's big, strong and quick but by God he needs to *smile* relax.

He *smile* himself every time time he has to dispose. I'd drop him but I know Dimma won't.

He is playing his role well so won't be dropped - but his disposal is appalling - he has no composure.

Reckon the team feed of him and it is amazing we win while he is playing but he is one of the reasons we win - it's because all 22 pit their head over the ball.

Composure is the issue and will come with experience.
He is just a rookie.
Remember.....Rance had no composure initially either.
He needs another year or so and will be very good.

I don't think he should be dropped.
Agree with many comments, others feed off him, tackling, pressure is excellent. Reads the play well.
Needs composure, learn to relax. He is a rookie and it will come in time.

Has to be told, if within 30m shoot the drop punt for a goal. Maybe practice more goal kicking this week.

With Butler and Rioli they combine very well and I think Rioli said between the 3 of them they invent plays and gel well.

he is the ultimate disrupter...no one knows what he is going to do..which makes hum valuable..

I never bet on novelties like first goal, top scorer, whatever. I don't even know what they are but I was keen on George to kick the sweep yesterday.

I've seen a lot of George. I don't think I've ever seen another like him for unpredictability but he does have a few patterns. If he can get involved early it makes a big difference to his confidence even if he bungles. He'll go again. And his form comes in waves.

I think he's finding form again. That checkside was a sign of his looking for confidence. He didn't nail the decision because he's not there yet. But he did get the shot. He got a few shots. And he was super competitive and elusive. He can struggle for touch but I think he's working back into form.

Somewhere, sometime, somehow things will simply just click into place for Georgie. He had a massive game for us yesterday, unfortunately at the moment he's got a touch of the Richo man comedic *smile* ups about his game.
If his little errors had worked yesterday he'd have been challenging Dusty n Cotch for BOG. Maybe next week it clicks n instead of us fans going grey n pulling the hair out whenever Georgie gets the ball we're cheering a flag winning impact.
