Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

It would be fairly Hardwick to ignore him the entire pre-season then realise he is essential round one.

Think you meant " ... fairly typical of Hardwick ... " You're right. Hardly got any NAB game-time but he's the upgrade. Like it and agree, but wonder if NAB is partly about PR. Mostly played the more glamorous draftees. Why? To assuage the frustrated masses?

Seems like 2014 draftees were largely ignored aside from Menadue and CEllis. Fine with them.

But maybe George could have been granted more of a go along with the likes of Short and Butler.

Not sure why they have bothered with this

There is no chance he will get a game , they barely played him in the pre-season and we are expected to believe that tgy will play him in the big time ?

A joke

strange that he didnt get much nab time

upgrade due to yarran and conca being unavailable most likely

Has he sorted out his decision making? his kicking execution? his "deer in the headlights" when under pressure? FMD...

Definitely a concern Hans. Jason can expect a heck of a lot more heat on his disposal at AFL level.

Bonus is it cant get much worse.

Seriously I like this kid's work and his ability to maximise the grunt factor in what is a relatively small body. He gets the ball moving forward our way through force of will a lot.

His disposal though can be very hit and miss. He should stick to running and handballing early days.

Actually reminds me of a (quicker) young Tony Free crossed with a sawn off Steve Silvagni.

It sure can. If he's rushed in the VFL it could be diabolical at the higher level.
That said his kicking doesn't appear to be so much an issue with technique as decision making.
Hes quite a frenetic player. I liked some signs from him in NAB 1 as he looked a bit more composed rather than just running the gauntlet.
Have to see how he goes I guess.

Good luck to Jason on his promotion
Looking at his highlights package my main concern is his kicking action especially his ball drop. :nailbiting :nailbiting :nailbiting :nailbiting
Hope hes able to hit a target coming out of the backline
