Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

Fact is Georgie has done well with the other lads to make a solid forward half unit that lacks talent and size to this point, thing is I don't think we can go much further without upgrading some of them or some how they improve there skill set quickly, I still feel Bolton and Stengle will take both Geories and Butlers forward half spots by seasons end, can those 2 reinvent and play other roles in the 22 ? Time will tell, one things for sure all the amigos would benifit from another contested mark in the forward half.

Butler is limited and Cantstagna is even more limited they wont be long term first 22 players, or i should say they should not be.

They will have both been worked by now there.

Cantstagna ....... I just have not been able to see what the fan bois are on about, rubbbish skills, no poise, very poor decision maker and nothing has changed, has missed numerous critical goals and has butchered many offensive 50 entries at critical junctures in games.

You cant win flags with those blokes.

Look at Shai the kids got it hes already shown it.

Id rather George get replaced by Tyson as Tyson has the factor and the smarts also.

Daniel Tyson and Shai will make opposition defences *smile* their pants.

Casstagna and Butler will not.

Georges standout was his pace and run but no point being quick if your a woeful kick.

If we keep losing games due to bad kicking and being wasteful and insanity is repeating the same mistake and hoping for a different result...... then persisting with Castagna is insanity until he demonstrates across multiple weeks (in the VFL) it is dramatically improved. 8 if not 12 points the result of the easy misses / poor ff50 entry decision making.

I thought he was ok. I have to admit I never really understand the George hate. Kicked a goal. Should have had two. 20 gamer. Worked ok, I thought. Won a few contests against highly rated opponents. He does hit up in the air against a couple.

Do we really drop him after that game?

He needs to reset. Like Rioli, like Butler, he's struggling with the opposition flood. A game in the magoos would work wonders.

His kicking can be errant but it isn't weak. He can penetrate when he needs to.

But overall he's been alright. I hope he can recapture the early season form. He and Jeeves need a spell. Try Stengle and Shai for a while.

Edit - snap, Jack. George is generally a joy to watch.

I've just about put a line through his name, lacks composure and this will be exposed even more so in September. We can and should do better.

doesn't do enough. and the ball spin irritates me, like cheap showmanship.

To make it as a forward he is going to have kick a lot better than what he is at the moment.

I imagine its nerves.

should be easy to eliminate.

like the way he plays, his approach and outcomes at set shots are very random.

I like george in the side. He's just gotta kick more goals than points.

Lots of players do it as part of there routine, helps some keep tension out of there hands , George appears his got the ball on those figit spinners though. If it works, then fine, if it don't ,change it

With the recent upgrading of Stengle off the R-list, writing may have been on the wall for George. However, was he the worst? Or Butler or Lloyd? Even Drioli was nullified.

Jack: 31.20 (52%)
Dusty: 18.14 (49%)
George: 13.11 (45%)
Rioli: 12.8 (50%)
Butler: 11.8 (52%)

Not numbers again.. The missis from this dud are easy set shots.

Yep.
Not up to it, along with a few others getting games.
At the end of the day it all boils down to poor list management & recruitment over the years.

At best he may be able to forge out a semi career as a running half back flanker but as a small forward he's just going to let you down in front of goal too many times.

Castagnas a bit different, his a number 29 rookie pick, his not a wasted ND pick, coming from that his probally been a win at this point, may not have a big career , however may be a handy depth player who plays a few different roles over a couple of seasons.

Wasn't defending him.
He needs to get the easy shots just like Jack, Dusty, Nank do.
One thing he has is the ability to find it enough to have reasonable shots at goal. Definitely needs to clean it up.
