Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

What's with the ball spinning, how can you kick goals doing that.
He can't be a reliable kick for goal with that spinning in his routine and this was even stated by the great FF Peter Hudson in an interview on Open Mike. He said when he sees someone doing that he knows he's more likely to miss. I believe this shows he is nervous about taking the shot and when you aren't confident you won't be accurate or kick far enough. Atm he is a liability in taking set shots.
It's a blight on our coaching staff that they allow him to keep doing this (same problem last week) so I hope he gets dropped and gets this bad habit out of his routine in the VFL.

He had 5 tackles.
That is all is game was.

81% game time 6 effective disposals for the entire game. SIX again!
He had 4 contested possessions. But not credited with any 1%ers
It's getting harder for those championing his position in the team.
It's been the same output for the last 4 weeks.

Forget the limp "he brings chaos".
It's time to try another player, George ain't delivering. He hasn't for a month.

it's true that he's tapering and probably needs the bye, but your prolonged criticism is OTT and unbalanced.

Castagna's goal kicking especially from set shots has been disgraceful.
Lennon might as well retire

Pressure Acts is the new thing, Willo.

And apparently George was near the top.

I'm getting the feeling , by the feel of this thread , George is becoming the new Morris

it can happen fast, that sort of stuff.

He can turn it around pretty quickly by just making a couple of set shots this week. A goal or two a game added to what he's doing now and I'll be happy.

Yep 1%ers is a backman's stat although getting zero is uncommon. Castagna had 19 pressure acts, his compratriots Bolton had 30 and Rioli had 14 ( a bit down for him for some reason, maybe needs a rest).

I like what Castagna offers but he also does that headless chicken act a lot and his recent form has been sub par (offensively) .

Don't mind him going around again but if we ever do find a decent tall forward option he is no 1 for the (lamb) chop at this moment in time.

been saying it like a stuck record (so has Dimma).

An inexperienced small forward, is going to be inconsistent.

Im really pleased we are giving him the chance to be inconsistent.

Being a low possession small forward who applies good pressure you need to kick the "easy" set shots to guarantee your place in the team. George is not currently doing that and it is costing us big time eg the GWS game (although he wasn't the only one to miss gettable shots that day)
