Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

The thing i love about george, and jeeves, is they dont have a shell to retreat into, even if they wanted too.

I love it. Its chaotic and exhilarating.

The lad is doing fine.

Chaos makes defenders nervous and he's bloody quick too.

Our new Jakey King minus an opposite foot.

Does he have a left foot?
Could we do better?
Yes he is playing a role but can we do better?

He will get better. He is doing just fine but he is learning fast and doing it at the coalface. This is fine. Your criticism is over the top.

Not sure if you go to the games, but being at the ground is the only place to see the true worth of our mosquito fleet as its often things that the camera doesn't pan to that these guys are doing. A lot of off the ball work that creates opportunities for others. The fact that they are all involved in the game shows what a major impact these guys are having. Take a look at Rioli yesterday, most were commenting that they thought he was more involved than the 9 possessions and thats part of the off the ball work that he, Butler and George are involved in.

I see a bit of Poppy in him, I think Poppy was 22 when drafted out of the SANFL and was also a back pocket type who didn't look to great to start with but also started out with his main role been to apply pressure

was better than in round 1.

Kicked surely, and has crazy crazy energy.

Ripping pace and importantly not afraid of getting the ball.

Also very very underrated in the air.

A pleasant surprise is George.

Makes the team better

Deserves his spot. There is no easy transition from our forward line with george rioli and butler harassing the opposition backs. This takes alot if pressure off our mids. Like Rances early years george is a bit all over the place with his kicking and decision making but experience will help this area of his game.

Harry is right, the defensive pressure by the 3 amigos is crucial to nullify the transition and springboard attacks. Will be interesting to see their effectiveness against the dogs and then adelaide who both have rapid hbfers.
like all small forwards he will have quiet games, its the nature of the position. but atm he has a good balance of hitups on the lead, getting to contests and harassing the hell out of the attacking backs.

You have got it spot on. What I really enjoy is the enthusiasm they all have for the game

Can't wait until he's upgraded to a manic defensive player with good foot skills.
He is a bit like a faster Steve Morris.
Keeps his spot whilst we are winning.

You're far overrating Steven Morris with the comparasion.

Or underrating George comparing him to a bush league footballer.

Yep 13 pressure acts from Castagna and 17 each from Rioli and Butler and Reiwoldt (all equal 2nd on the day). You can see the strategy and it is working well.

Edit: Oops sorry those were stats for Collingwood game. Castagna had 18, Butler 14 and Rioli 11. Top for game was Dusty with 22, followed by Cotch and Nankervis and McIntosh with 20.

defenders are going to start pushing forward as the ball comes inside 50, just to get away from these blokes.

We finally have players who can perform the task naturally. Young and quick. We've previously been trying to turn players into this which just doesn't work well.

been really exciting watching what the three amigos have brought ot he side in such a short space of time..who saw these three coming on like this..the BIG upside is that all three are gonna get better..and then better....im gonna enjoy this journey

nah. Castagna is a small lead up forward, who is manic when the ball hits the ground. he is a quicker Jake King, without the underrated kicking skills.

Have you forgotten how Morris looked in our forward line?

Castagna is MILES better.
