Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

Just starting to mature.

I havent read all the pages, and I am sure this has been said before, but how bad is his approach to goal. He looks like he is trying to surprise the opposition with his snaps, rather than get himself ready in any way. he has about as much confidence in his kicking as we do i reckon.

also he has a bad habit when marking up the ground of getting well behind the mark, taking an eternity to look to move it on.

Shocking approach to goal, with his back facing the goal for the round the corner kick, but I don't think it is all George's fault. Who is forward line coach?? Can't he see something is wrong. Dimma can't you see something is wrong? Needs to get with Jack for rest of the year and train on goal kicking or it might be over for George.

Has there ever been a time during a game when supporters have constantly booed their own player?
Theres ever chance of that happening vs North if George and FAarts are playing
Pretty sure Essendoom did with Brett Stanton i think

Regardless of his faults George is a 3 time premiership player & played his part in all 3. Aarts tries his guts out as well. Should they be in the current team, most likely not but still.

Was he kicking like this during his VFL games?
I'm sure this is something that the forward line coach is working on.
But at the end of the day, it just makes his selction even more baffling.

I've expressed plenty of frustration at our footballers for making mistakes at games. You can hear the whole crowd let out groans of disappointment when there's a sloppy piece of play or a bad turnover. But I can't ever recall anyone booing our own players, that would be disgraceful and a step too far.

Edit - not suggesting you boo our players TM.
Pretty sure we've booed a couple of coaches over the years.
Prefer to save my booing for the maggots, find it helps clear my sinuses n ease tension. Even managed to boo a few nasty dirty oppo players over the years, saved a couple of boos for Hirdy n Essendrugs a few years back as well.

It's not fair George shoulders the blame for the loss but he shoulders more than most. Can't possibly be picked this week.

George kicks that goal then we win the game. Yes plenty of mates but that was the easiest chance of all the missed chances. Definitely needs to be dropped.

George is copping it left right and centre for his skill error and will likely pay the price with selection.

But why does he cop it more than say Short where his thread is crickets.

Skill error (like Grimes x 2) Vs a selfish, undisciplined act that he had full control of. They are the acts that should be under the most scrutiny.

Don't forget we were 17 points up with only 4 minutes left when he did it. If he thinks of the team and not himself we win.

For all his talent n brilliance The great Richoman could often make us cringe n peep through our fingers at some of his mishaps. Unfortunately for Georgie he has very little of Richoman's talent n brilliance and his mishaps are far more frequent n cringe worthy.
It's totally unfair that Georgie gets to carry the can of vitriol for the team failure on the day, but his efforts provided a glowing beacon for us disgruntled to hone in on.

True mate.

But many are honing in on him being the biggest reason we lost that game.

There were many many reasons, especially late on. And if we are going to play the game of singling out one - Leysy would suggest the one that was intentional is the worst.

In summary “Look over there!” Is Leysys tactic.

George gotta go.

Nah not at all. He should be dropped until/if he can sort his finishing out.

Just find the blame for the loss rather ridiculous considering the other indiscretion(s) late in the game that get next to no focus.

Dont mention Short on here Leysy.

Apart from that undisciplined act, he is not playing to the level he was when he first moved into the midfield. Dont worry I have him on notice this week. His thread might not be so quiet.

Maybe because they’re aberrations. Castagna is consistent in the way he plays

TOTALLY SPOT ON....THE SHORT AND GRIMES STUFF WAS EVEN WORSE....having loose giants players in the foward line with under a minute to go was amazing in its madness...

Once George and FArts were in the side it was 16 vs 18 on the field
