Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

Your post was right, he's not selected in either team.

Except that I thought we were playing in Sydney, and he might be on a plane up there as the 23rd player. Then remembered the game was at the G, and the VFL at punt road oval, so he could walk across and lace up in the black jumper. Time for bed methinks.

This bloke has got it. He's smart. He can read it. And he can slip a tackle. He's got a future. I'm a recent convert but I am now devout.

Welcome aboard Jack. Needs to play, and it should be easy enough to get him in.

The thing can'tstandya has that many of our senior players lack is he can move and evade. But for dimmer this unravels his structures.

"Now Jason, you've got some great attributes there son, great dash, good evasive skils, willing to take on the ball. So here's what I want you to do. I'm playing you in the back pocket so whenever you get the ball make sure you stop, prop, kick it backwards and for gods sake kick it along the boundary line!"

:hihi you know what, this is close to the truth.

We may joke but a part of me thinks these guys are better off developing at VFL level than being exposed to the hardwick gameplan and playing next season under a new senior coach.
McCrae seems to have a bit of a clue.

The thing I like most about Castagna is he wants the footy, he wants to do the job, he doesn't sit back an hope somebody else will, he wants it. Maybe wrong but I think he may just be able to play in the middle, like his dash out of the back half and his pressure in the forward half, but think he may just be a very handy midfield rotation in a number of midfield roles

Has lightning quick reaction times and Knows where the goals are too. Must come in.

was our best on Sunday, for mine he plays the rest of the year which will make him better for next year & beyond

Exactly. I like the way he goes about it.

ditto, i not seen a great deal of him play but i noticed he had improved a lot & was hungry for the ball. given where we are plus the fact Houli/Yarran are out for a bit yet if not all year let George/Shorty play the running half back role the rest of the year with stints up fwd or middle as i reckon both can play those positions as well. that way we can determine which positions they are best suited to for next year & beyond. (i'd be upgrading both at the Draft)

prep for 2017 starts now, a good 2 months before most Clubs & well before all the contending sides.

Has been way better than Broad all year. Staggering selection decisions as per usual with our gormless mob.
