Welcome to Tigers: Jason Castagna

Was a welcome addition to the team with his speed and hardness. That spoil he did was first class. The only one who could have done it better would be Rance.

Ok 1st game, was nudged off the ball pretty easily, but definitely worth persevering with

He should do well if he doesn't listen to Hardwicks instructions

Good first up effort by George. Thought he looked like a deer in the headlights early on, but then put on his game face and did some really nice things. He gets the Big Tick from me.

Not a bad first game, pity it had to come in such a *smile* performance by pretty much every one else. I bet he'll be dropped next week to make way for Hunt.

I guess Thursday night will tell us, Tim. The young blokes come in and look exciting, then after a few weeks they're either dropped for a serial dud, or any endeavour is coached out of them and they look like the rubbish that they replaced.

I didn't get to see the game. Don't have Fox and don't live in Melbourne.

But what were people's thoughts on him? Choc Williams in the preseason preview suggested, at AFL level, definitely will be a defender - so not seen as quite up to the standard to make an AFL level midfielder. Does he look a superior prospect than say Morris whom has been playing this small defender position for the past few seasons?

Give him Cyril and leave him on him no matter what, play him deep, run with him in the middle and let him use his flair an run off him.....don't be scared let him learn from the best

And Grimes.

His movement in traffic looked too class. Wonder if he should be a mid. From the sound of it he has looked good in that role in the VFL too.

Jason should bask in the glory of the compliments now because if he doesn't turn into a new version of Gavin wanganeen by round 12 he will be seen as a dud.

Saw him last year in the vfl and looked a very good young player who tended to be a bit manic with the ball and needed to learn some composure. He has been prone to the odd howler in defence so I hope he survives that on this site.
