Welcome to Tigerland - Callum Moore

I thought he did a lot of great non stat type stuff that the match committee would love - bringing ball to ground etc. And some of it resulted in goals.

Thought his attempts to pressure were pretty poor, resulting in easy ball coming out of the back line. Not ready yet IMO.

Thought he played his role. Couple of brings to ground led to goals. He also shepherded Dusty's goal really well and look at Flossy's second goal. Callum makes sure the saint's defender doesn't get a run at it. Match committee will be happy with that.

the issue with Callum is his goal kicking. Confidence will help but he has some structural issues. He is one I am happy to go around the corner because his drop punts are diabolical.

A better proposition than Elton was, took 6 marks, could've taken a few more as he dropped a couple early. Liked the lead up work he did, this will help Jack by giving him more room to lead into. Like others have said, i hope he gets a block of 3 or 4 games.

Thought he played his role well considering it was his first game for a while. Will only grow in confidence so hoping they give him more time in the ones. Was more effective than Townsend. If he could somehow lift his pressure game he easily replaces Castagna and Townsend. Is the exact type we need next to Jack. Can also pinch hit in the ruck due to his great athleticism.

Yes only had 19 pressure acts which is low compared to the rest of the team in the forward line. But not sure that was his primary role, particularly once Reiwoldt went down. Competing in the air and bringing it to ground would have been his key instruction.

If is our depth we are in trouble...

I reckon they are throwing him in at the moment to see if he can swim or not. Good time to do it. If he can't then he's on the table at seasons end. Certainly been around for a bit now.
Plenty of depth at the club now.

Kid in his 3rd(?) game, became our number one tall forward halfway through the first quarter! Overall, did well in the circumstances. Hope he gets 2-3 my Re games

He is however nearly 22yo. It is time to see if he has what it takes. He was rookied so he's not exactly a high risk proposition should he not work out. I prefer that players are given minimum 3 game run to get used to the different pace and team mates before making final judgements.

He was ok & probably deserves another game at least to find his feet.
It was a performance that I pretty much expected after seeing his work at VFL level. Good mark, good pace etc..
His number one weakness is kicking for goal though. Very hard to make it as a forward if you can't convert. This has been my major concern. Chol at least has a good set shot.

How many pressure acts would Jack have in a typical game, for comparison?

None of his shots were easy, to be fair. Plenty of others had easier shots that missed. One went out on the full.

In time his best spot may well be wing if he can get his running power up to the mark. Imagine he and Balta on opposite wings marking the kickouts (or the next kick to the wing) and then bolting forward.

Previous week against West Coast Reiwoldt had 23, which is well below his average. Previous two weeks before that he had 46 in each.

Agree. Some hard markers here as role probably changed after 5 mins when Jack went off

Thanks for those stats Ice, pretty fair effort for a young guy playing his 3rd game and being forced to play 98% game time with Jack going down, surely he stays in.

At least he's not a peaheart like Griffiths and Vickery. Has a crack and was ok I thought.

Kicking is a worry though.

Jeez tough on Griffiths. I would have thought the last thing you would say about him is pee heart. Very brave in the air, sometimes too brave.

Not the Cleve Hughes type of pea heart, the one effort, lazy type pea heart.

That's what I thought at the ground.

His kicking will always be a worry, the ball drop is as bad as it gets. But he competes in the air and on the ground.
