Just thinking of templates for RCD and I think Blake Acres at St Kilda are pretty close.

Acres has had some huge games at AFL level and then weeks of not much. But the graph is going the right way and I reckon this year he puts it all together.

Same for RCD, he will moments but will need time to put it together.

Then we should trade him immediately

I see Blak Acres as more outside player than what RCD will become and RCD looks to be more an aggressive player than Acres is

We wont know the template for him until we see him play this season out in both VFL and AFL if he gets games

But i would like to see him heading the Fyfe route

65% of RCD's possessions are contested, that is up there with Dangerfield, Oliver, Cripps & Fyfe. But in using Fyfe as a benchmark you have to understand Fyfe was a forward turned midfielder, that has helped in enhancing his aerial dominance. RCD is solid overhead but nowhere near the class of Fyfe or even Dangerfield who was another forward turned midfielder.

Thats perfectly fine Bullus as we need RCD to be our mid beast and not a foward

When he is playing foward he would be more likely to be a lead-mark-goal type rather than a leaping overhead marking type

Hopefully he gets better at finding the ball.

We can't have too many mids not getting enough of it.

Jack Graham in the same boat.

I don't follow the kids as much as you do, but what I do note in the footage that I see of him, is he seems to have the ability to when being tackeled, and it looks terminal, he somehow gets the ball out................and often to a team mate. I'm aware that as a casual observer, someone dictates to me what vision I see of him - via highlights - and this may not be a huge strong point of his, but at least to my eye, he just seems to get that ball out and not get pinged..........

"baaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllll" I hear the oposition spectators cry, only for the residual current device to eject it just in time, and away we go.

This is pretty accurate & his handball efficiency backs up that observation, seems to hold his ground in the clinches. Can see him emulating Clayton Oliver in that he will maintain a very high contested % yet deliver with precision. Both players also have pretty similar running ability so I'm very optimistic in this case.

Be wrapped if he ends up anywhere near Oliver as a player.

Obviously only seen a few highlights of R2D2, but in comparison to Oliver, it seems that Oliver is often pure bullocking beast n often is just crashing n bashing the ball out with limited finesse.
R2D2 ( from very limited viewing ) appears to be able to stand in congestion n keep the arms free to deliver to advantage.
Get the impression that he'll provide a dozen or so premium possessions rather than two dozen scrubbers that sort of might work out. Am I seeing right or to harsh on Oliver, Bully?

I actually rate Oliver as one of the best handballers in the comp, at least in terms of releasing from heavy congestion. Last season he averaged 29 touches (21 effective) & was still able to operate in the high 60s in terms of contested work. Kicking probably more of a weakness all things considered. Not suggesting he's Diesel Williams but he does seem to get good range and has impressive peripheral vision. I also reckon a lot of people are underselling his slipperiness, his agility testing was outstanding and this seems to have translated well at AFL level. If R2D2 can C3PO like Oliver we'll be doing well.

From inside the four walls; they are raving about this kid.

Genuine excitement. Raving. We got one.

There were glimpses in that intra club where his handballing was as clean as anything and looks to have an ability to dish it out when getting tackled too. Like him.

I reckon we might have a couple of keepers, Ross looks very promising as well.

What’s that 2 potential A Grade mids in the space of 2 drafts and both picks on the late teens. Very unRichmond like.
