I agree Roary.

pre-draft, I declared him the bust of the first round.

but the moment we read his name, I changed my mind ;D

I hope my initial declaration exposes me as the biggest, NFI buffoon ever to grace the pages of PRE.

and its a helluva field.

It takes a village to raise a village idiot.

:rofl

Indeed it is easy ;D

Is it a Cox Plate type field? :hihi

Top 10 All-Star mile and a quarter super intergenerational invitational. $1 Billion purse.

Kingston Town, Maybe Diva, Winx, Sunline, Northerly, So You Think, Might and Power, Tobin Bronze, Tulloch, Pharlap + 4 emergencies

Lots of us will discreetley allocate all manner of different blokes on here to horses and even call the last 3 furlongs in our heads.

Indeed Ive done it already. The bloke I had on Winx lead all the way and won by a length and a half.

But I'm happy to say that if RCD ends up a Bont/Cripps type 250 gamer, I should gain entry and possibly beat a couple home.

I'm going to do a Vo Rogue and go hard and go early, RCD will be a James Hird....................... the player that is. Run me down if you can ;)

I really cant see how this kid will be a bust

RCD know how to play and know how to get the ball, People say he doesnt get enough of it but he was not played purely as a mid as he was also being played foward
He has the speed the height and will have the strength as he has a body that should build up quickly similar to Bont,Cripps,Pav etc

I could easily see RCD becoming a 194cm 98kg beast with speed and agility the only question mark is as Bullus pointed out his running capacity, Will he be able to build his tank to a level thats able to play as a full time mid. If not then he will become a similar type as Dusty/Caddy where he plays 50/50

I personally love this selection and think we have a special player and am excited by what he has to offer the next 10-15 years, I had massive doubts the moment we drafted
B.Ellis,C.Ellis,Lennon,Conca but dont have these doubts with RCD its more the confidence i had when we took Cotchin,Dusty,Riewoldt

wow, despite him apparently being unable to discern right from wrong, Hirdy was one of the great champs ive seen play.

I'd never ever even thought about having a player remotely like him

and there you go and lob it in there and now it can't be un-lobbed.

It's the ears that i'm comparing easy :help

Out of Bont, Cripps, Fyfe he looks most like Fyfe early doors IMO.

There is no way he will be a bust, even if he can't get his endurance up to an elite level, we should still have an explosive beast that wins clearances and dangerous when resting forward. Would rather these attributes than that of a one paced endurance king (not naming names).

Can he clunk the ball like Fyfe?

Remember against us this year, Fyfe got the 3 votes and clunked everything. Amazing player. If RCD is anywhere near him in terms of output, I will be beyond happy

Without seeing him in contested marking he takes the ball out in front and seems to one grab, not sure if he has a vertical leap maybe Bully can provide combine result.

Interestingly RCD did not finish in the top 10 in any category at the combine, anyone know how to get his results?

Finished last in the 3klm time trial and looked to struggle with the distance from what i was told today

Ross was impressive and Turner , English were with the main group

It does look like the young players from the past few drafts were not involved, so not surprising a first year player was going to end up last running against the senior players.

Relax guys...RCD is very unlikely to play any games next season. We all knew he didnt have a well developed tank yet. This will most likely come after 3 full pre-seasons. His fitness was his biggest query wasn’t it?
No doubt the club will get him up to speed ASAP, but don’t fret.
Actually, I’d be a little concerned if he was playing games in the opening few rounds given the strength of our squad.
Like most of you, I remember a young Trent Cotchin labouring and copping a blasting from the commentary team in one of his first few games at Etihad stadium.
RCD will eventually get upto speed. If it’s later in the season great, if not, no panic.

You try running into a headwind with those two parachutes either side of your head.

It was a tail wind otherwise he wouldnt have got to the finish line
