What a contrast in his first 2 games this year , first up against the best midfield going around , second up against the most dis functional team going around , thought he did some good things , however with Martin, Cotchin and Dow back he and Ross go out for me .

He did look a bit unsure at times last night when he had the ball, which is understandable as it was his first game for the year.

He worked pretty hard though, he was top 3 on the ground in a few speed and distance categories which was a weakness of his in the past.

He was in the top handful in a few other categories too.

: Most tackles for Richmond
: Most defensive half pressure acts for Richmond
: Most stoppage clearances of all players
: Highest average speed in defence of all players
: Third highest average speed of all players
:Third highest distance covered of all players
: Third most spoils for Richmond
: 5th most pressure acts for Richmond

16 disposals (5k, 11h, 7c, 9u, 68.8% eff.)
2 marks
4 tackles
5 clearances (2 centre clearances)
1 inside 50
1 intercept
134 metres gained
2 score involvements
1 goal assist
82% time on ground

Definitely looking at that can’t fault his game as much. Thought he was ok just by watching.

Gotta wonder about our list build. When we have a guy like Riley, who's strength is at the fall of the ball and fighting to prove he should stay on the list, but he's being asked to be a relief ruck in the VFL.
Where the hell is Mate?

and killing it too, pleasingly. let's hope confidence grows as he's a level above the others today

How does he not have a tank yet?? He has the tools to be a very good inside mid at afl level but ends up snail pace every match.
Some players just aren’t capable of developing the tank needed and no amount of pre-seasons will ever fix that.

Morro talked (indirectly) about RCD's line breaking. Said it was up. Ok. It was a bit on recent. Argument for HHF cultivation? I think so.

As a mid at VFA level RCD's numbers were mediocre. And he gets a lot of opportunity.

Dow earns his attendances. Cumberland and Stack should be cultivated at ground level through CBAs. (Poetically, RCD may prove to be the best HFF. But he's nothing special at VFA CB. Despite his chances.)

It's time the MC bit the bullet on RCD and played him HFF. He aint a mid because not smart. Dow has passed him and is still in doubt for AFL level.

Starting point low, trend bad. And worse.
