Like the guy but he doesn't always think about the situation, sometimes at the teams detriment, as in the fourth quarter today when more composure would have iced the game
The coach was VERY unhappy with that. Pretty sure Butler will know about it

Yeah agree. That was really dumb. Can’t imagine our team rules would include anything like what he did at that stage of the game. We lost all of our momentum from that point and gave Hawthorn a sniff when he should have completely iced the game. He also missed a basic handball target before that which would have led to a goal but instead resulted in a turnover.

If he gets a bake from the coach he would have earned it. I like Dan and what he brings but he’s show boating a bit this year. Just do the basics well Dan like you did last year and the rest will look after itself.

Dan had cramped late in the third quarter and maybe he didn't have the legs to kick it? Benefit of the doubt but he really should have had at least 3 goals and maybe up to 5 today.

Not a great sign when the coach has to leave the box.

I bet Butlers ears are still ringing.

Surprised at the criticism. With a bit of luck he’d have had 3 goals. Glamorous footballer who made a couple of errors. No worries here.

Yep, easy to forget he has only played 28 games

Needs to show boat less and tuck the ball under the arm more.

Doing good otherwise.

Agree. Has some real flair, we don't want to knock that out of him. He, Rioli & George all have different strengths that complement each other.

His tackle and chase pressure is as good as we have.

Agree with others that needs to do the simple well, use his pace and leave the fancy stuff for later.

The goal he kicked with a backheel from the goal line, while impressive, is not what DH would like to see.

Don't think he had much choice he picks up he runs though the goal line.
Smart play I say.

Agree. The road runner was really good. Take away that brain fade he was in my top 3

Agree was fantastic aside from the late brain fade.

As for criticism of the soccer goal spare me, was fantastic..! If cyril had done it, it would be front oage today..
I love this guy and way he plays, takes games on but works hard other way as well. Titch like in some ways with that brilliance.

I agree. I'm happy for him to get run down from behind once or twice a game as long as he keeps backing his strengths. This franetic pace of ball movement is key to our success.

He lost a life long family friend overnight. Hopefully he plays a blinder in respect for Stephen D.
Sad news, be bloody hard trying to play a game of footy in front of 90 k after that.

One of his Dads best mates been suffering a while with cancer. Knowing young Butts he will want to show his respect by having a red hot go at the Game.
