Welcome to the Tigers Oleg Markov

You'll get no arguement from me ToO!

BEllis and Hunt should not be in the 22 but I fear they will be.

This is the thing though..do you go with guys who've been found short of the level when the heat is on over several seasons? Or do you you go with youth who are just short of the level now but have the opportunity to improve and go on to become very good players.
If Hardwick takes option A it will be a sign that little is really improving even if we come away with a win. We need the club to be thinking bigger picture here than a kill against a likely wooden spooner but I fear it's all about making certain of early season victories to take the heat off a failed coach. Hence experience will win over youth.

I hope the team is selected based on current form and the needs of the team, not their level of experience. The new coaches on the selection panel should ensure that Dimma's perceived favourites are not selected based on a few good games in the past. Which young players can do a tagging job? I expect the likes of Markov and Menadue to get games this year but not just because they are young. Personally I'd love to see a kill against a likely wooden spooner because percentage will be very important again this year with the evenness of the competition...assuming we are striving for finals.

Yep Markov should be picked ahead of Hunt every day of the week....... but won't be.
Can Markov do the tagging role for which Hunt is probably picked?

Can Hunt do it?

The jury is in on this guy. Move on.
Hunt should be in the VFL side and only used if there's lots of injuries.

Should Oleg play? I don't know if he's shown enough through the JLT but I agree that he has a far greater upside than Hunt (and BEllis).

Amen to that. You can add Morris and Conca to that list

I though Reece did ok in jlt?

We're never gonna have 22 guns, surely conca is good enough to be the 17th or 18th best player in this team?

I don't want someone who is part of our midfield rotations being the 17th or 18th best player in the team. If we are to have any success this season our midfield needs to run deeper than that.

The exception to that rule is when you are running a first or second year player in the middle. Conca is a big bodied midfielder who doesn't use his big body.

I thought he was an hb flanker? I'm clearly out of touch.

I think its which body bits that are big, which determines the success, or otherwise, of a big bodied mid.

I'll take big shoulders and chest, over big head and arse.

thats not to say I dont think Reece can be of value in our team.

St.Oleg seems to be big in all right places.
