His form for the 3 preceeding games was poor his form for the 2 preceeding games was putrid, he was horrible with turnovers and no run provided he shouldve been dropped the week before he was then he played even worse.
if he plays in the finals we are screwed shocking by foot watch him turn it over when the finals blowtorch is on.

thought he was ok
I think he is pretty good too. Was skeptical at the beginning but I reckon he has a good head in a crisis.

This comment was about Short not Broad.

People have to realise Nathans played only 7 games and has shown improvements weekly not many others have done the same in the same time yet this bloke is getting bricked and has done all that has been asked of him so far.

Once he is confident and adept in his defensive side he will run more its common sense.

He is in the side as a COVERING DEFENDER right now not as a RUNNER, he is allowing Vlastuin and Rance and Houli to run and covering off for them and doing a very good job. He is also allowing for the midfield and forwards to have more rotations due to his aerobic capacity and tank hence he can spend more time on the ground and let someone else have a breather.

There are a number of reasons he was wanted in the side and is playing and other darlings of the boards here are not.

It is not blind favourtism from me i am a Darksider and always have been but he deserves his chance and im happy for him to get it.

Hard to argue with that craigo. Still he was travelling very well earlier in the season &has performed well since going back to the VFL.

Yep thats it Toots i dont mind Jayden either and i think there is a spot for him even if it is back forward at this stage or as a smaller utility.

Id be a lot more comfortable with Jayden in front of the sticks shooting for goal than George.

Does Jayden have the wheels to be a havoc small forward though as the other boys are pretty slick.

He is quick but not quick off the mark.

agree. Don't really get the bagging myself. For what he is and where he's at, he's doing pretty good.

A bit shaky in the first 15 minutes then again so were most of the team but grew into the game well and put in some good tackles plus ball movement. Definitely worth his place in the team

Congrats to Nathan on making his first final.

I assume his role will be to play on Parsons (189 cm) and Murdoch (190 cm and fast) when Grimes is not covering him.
Possibly, even to give us insurance to temporarily cover a tall like Taylor (along with Grimes) if Rance has to go forward to provide a contest.

But why do I keep looking at his name and feeling ....... "uneasy".

I think the Cats would be looking to target him. It will be a huge bonus if he stands up and doesn't give up goals to their B-Graders.

He is the only player in our team who I am not certain is up to this level.
Other's might play bad games, but they have shown they can perform in big "Home & Away" games, but I'm not sure he is even capable of handling this level of contest.

I hope like hell at the end of the game he proves he belongs and handles the big moments that will surely come.

Good luck Mr. Broad.

2 horrible momentum changing turnovers already in the first half.
This is what I was worried about.
Now he sits there for the whole break stewing on it.

This is where Jayden Short's kicking skills get missed.

Enough of the SHORT sh!t Broad isnt is his spot, dead set done my head in explaining this for the past 6-7 weeks

Grimes turned over the ball to Dangerfield for the goal also

Nathans done ok two turnovers which everyone is doing what about all the missed shots at goal they are what kills ya

Yep. His kicking is atrocious he'll only be more nervous now.

No mate. Pop gun kicker. Short can kick 60m with penetration. And he runs an break the lines. Broad hasn't the confidence to do that. Watch how he goes back behind the mark. One play Graham was in a perfect position for a 30m pass just outside 50 and he ignored him. Why? Because he has no confidence in his kicking. And we saw the short turnover kick 2 minutes later.

Please. We have 4 talls in defense (3 are mobile).
Broad's role could go to any short, mid, or mobile tall against this cat's lineup.
He is the worst kick of the lot of them by far but he offers defensive cover for injury to a tall or if Rance goes forward.

He is pretty solid defensively but when you turn the ball over in that position you get blitzed at this level.

Massive 2nd half for him. It will be interesting to see if he will play it safe now with long kicks down the line which will work against us having less talls.

Good luck Mr. Broad. This is testing time now.
