Welcome to the Tigers Marlion Pickett!

Haven't listened to SEN this morning, was this report mentioned at all?
I only caught about 5 minutes , Wheatley made a good point that even if Holman gets off , what the hells going on for him to be reported anyway.

People power has to get rid of SHocking

The trouble is that the AFL won't consider that a very similar incident occured not 5 seconds earlier. The only difference I can see between the incidents is that Pickett got an arm around his head, whereas looking at the photo above the Brisbane player was hit on left shoulder and chest.

Why the guy who coathangered Pickett didn't get a penalty I don't know. Plus, the Brisbane player Pickett ran into should be cited for staging. Yeah he got hit, but he wasn't shot which is how he went down.

DS
He won’t get off, but the embarrassment it causes the AFL and the flow in effect of having to enforce the rule equally will be worth it.

Tribunal has never felt in lockstep with the MRO. I reckon they will adjudicate it on it's merits

what will our defence be?

everyone else is running back and clothes-lining blokes too?

may sound strange, but I wish we'd taken this one on the chin,

excuse the pun

As I posted yesterday, I wanted us to appeal and jokingly suggested we say he was dazed from the hit prior.

The way the AFL will slow down the vision it will paint Marlion as the grim reaper with his arm being compared to an almighty skythe so I don’t think he'll get off.....

But, what it will do is highlight what a *smile* piece of umpiring he was subjected to in the lead up and I see that as a win regardless!

Our defence will be there is no strike. It's a striking charge. If Chrisso had changed it to rough conduct we may have been in trouble, but flat out striking should be easy to defend

it wasnt a strike and medium contact is not consistent with the gradings of other high contact.

BTW Short got coathangered, with no report, so not everyone is doing it, but some do without suspension.

Agree, we should challenge both the medium impact and the strike.

What other incidents have been listed as medium impact?

The AFL will appeal if the tribunal let him off and the 1 week will be upgraded to 2.
You watch!

No chance the AFL appeal if he gets off, which he should get off btw. There wasn't a strike in the first place and Starcevich got up fine and took his kick.
Sure but they’re weasels and can pull anything out of the hat when it suits them, like Pickett’s actions ‘were not a good look for the game’.

Pretty sure only the MRO can do that. Tribunal adjudicate on the charge. In this case striking.

Like Lynch last year being sent to the tribunal because, well, because Hocking wanted him rubbed out but he didn't do anything worthy of a suspension. Chrisso send him to tribunal. Tribunal throw it out quick time

This report is a result of the match heating up and threatening to erupt in brawls. The umpire attempted to diffuse tensions with a report. That context could be something to be mindful of when challenging the medium impact.

Spot on cups....seeing Marlion involved he knew there was not going to be a backwards step. Crapped his dacks and reported him before anything went down!
