Welcome to the Tigers Marlion Pickett!

I thoroughly enjoyed them all, but I think Houli’s was the best.

Absolutely loved Marlions book. Read it in a day. made me cry a couple of times.

Jess and the kids were sitting 3 rows behind me at the gabba GF, and im extra spewing now that I didnt go up and pay my respects.

I like to think they would have enjoyed seeing dad's No.50 on the crazy bloke drinking hand sanitiser in front?

will get Bachar's on this recommendation.

im also toying with the notion of going duel-numbered in 2021

49/50? 98%?

The Richmond/South Freo relationship is a beautiful thing

I have thought about the Richmond / South Freo relationship too and also think it is a wonderful thing in more ways than one.
What a supply of quality, in particular, indigenous players it provides. The club has along history and is revered over there.
It gives us an eye and access to WA talent and I think our new found quality of care and support for indigenous youth and players will put us foremost in young players and their managers thoughts.
It is a win/ win deal.
I really hope the RFC continues this way and a long and strong bond is kept between the two clubs.

How good is it that this bloke is now a 2 time Premiership Hero forever etched in RFC and AFL history, when just 2 years ago he was playing WAFL unheralded.

His story is a remarkable one but his success even moreso.

And to think he could be in a position to make it 3 medals.

A significant role or career beckons him with youth counselling / mentoring if he wants to go that way when his career is over.

He is gonna have more cred than nearly anyone else especially amongst the young Aboriginal lads and lasses.

3 Medal Marlion has a nice sounding edge to it.

Who was that other WAFL bloke again? The super star that played for Geelol n then cost Wet Coke a fortune to poach.

Amazing what right place right time can do for your career resume.

Marlions mate TK.

I'd be expecting a big season from TK this year also, now settled back in Perth.

The Eagles become bigger threats to the top 4 if Tim brings his Geesook form to 2021.

indulge me a double post ....

My favourite part of his book was when his Freo coach detailing how he accelerates for 3 strides before impact and the astonishing brutality and uniqueness of the technique.

its was a piece of poetry.

ive seen it and heard it and recited it too.

It reads to me like he could go like4like in a mid rotation with our captain.

Yeh, you do think that physicality could be used around the ball more. He moves so gracefully its natural to assume he belongs in open space. But his brutality does demand he be where the contact is at its most effective.

I love Cotchin’s gears. Smoothest gear box in the country.
Marlion very similar without the core strength that Cotchin has.
Both lovely to watch

0It will be interesting to see Marlion with a proper pre-season under his belt. (assuming Dictator Dan doesn't ballz things up between now and round 1).

They should make a clause for the father / son that 2 premierships qualifies! Marlion is averaging a flag every 10 or so games!

By the time he reaches 100 games, the Tigers will be up to 20 flags!

Suck on that one Eddie...................... Eddie? Where are you Eddie?

I'm not sure if anyone on here listens to Jase and PJ in the morning. They have this segment called Epic Tales. They have people on that tell stories about crazy things that happened in the past, they've had all sorts from people that were involved in the 2004 tsunami, this week they had a Qantas pilot tell a story of when an engine exploded just after takeoff, they've had schoolchildren being taken hostage by an armed person.

Next week will be Marlion telling his life story. The segments usually on around 8.15.

We have three players who accelerate into collisions: Chimp, Marlion and Grimes. Rance did too. RCD looks to do it. Stack, when he gets a silver-spoon tough-guy rep in his sights. It's intimidating for opponents.

Marlion has played 20 of a possible 22 games since he debuted on that glorious last Saturday of September, 2019. With Houli likely to miss early in the season, it appears Marlion has been slated to fill his spot at half-back, allowing Caddy to resume the wing role he played so well in late 2019. If and when Houli returns, unless there are other injuries or form slumps, one of these guys could be for the chop.

I like Caddy in the side. I want Marlion in the side. (And then there's Syd.)

Marlion recently turned 29. With his lithe build and late start, he could conceivably play until his mid-30s. If he survives until his 37th birthday, we could have two Marlion Picketts on the list, with Jr turning 18 in 2028. Wouldn't that be something. We should have an idea as he gets close whether it's worth carrying Marlion (if carrying is even required) to 100 games Dean Rioli-style to get first dibs on Jr, Latrelle, Shaniqua, and Levi. Imagine.

Love it.....we have Marlion Jnr debut on GF day and play along side his (very) oldman... Dustin accepts his 11th Norm Smith as Cotch strides on stage to present the cup to Dimma and Capt Stack. .... all this is happening as Dimma's 5yr old twins wrestle for a footy in the middle of the G!

I found him frustrating tonight. Made too many simple errors disposing of the footy. He's almost too laconic.

That said he'll probably keep his spot assuming Vlastuin is out.

Rather him on the wing than caddy. Covers much more grass.

Marlion joined us at his peak. He hasn't improved much since arriving and I don't think he will.

He is what he is and its good enough most of the time. I think we all expect him to improve a lot, but he won't.

Fumbly. Ross showed more in less game time.

Shift Edwards to HB to cover Vlastuin, Ross in the midfield. Cotchin in for Pickett.
