Welcome to the Tigers Marlion Pickett!

Kudos to Easy and Easy Jr - they saw that Pickett had become a very effective hard running defensive wing and crunching tackle machine before most of us.

I don't think it'll make a difference where you buy it from, generally for first-time book deals there is a lump fee that's agreed upon + it might come with incentives if a certain amount of copies are purchased.

You can see the retailers here.
I would like to get my hands on the book but unless the AFL or RFC sell it then it is going to be difficult to get it for us overseas mob. Can't win them all I suppose

Good to see he has a contract and will be earning a good amount of money, he needs to get set up for life so he can raise his kids secure financially.

From what I know of people who author books, the royalties are very small, hope he makes a bit out of it but not sure it will be a big earner.

He has a couple of obvious deficiencies which I'm sure he will work on over the Preseason, but his plus side far outweighs them.

We know Marlion cherishes contact but like a good boxer he also has a 'hard jaw' so he can take as good as he dishes out.

He makes the next contest because he nonchalantly shrugs moments and jumps straight into the next one.

I can only guess it comes naturally because he's been doing it his whole life, that's why he is a boon to our club.

I reckon you bring out another video.
2 premierships in 20 games theme.

-Have his finals highlights 2020
-Have his GF packaged in the video.
-Interview with his past coaches.
-Interview with all his Richmond coaches
-All his team mates. A snipett.
-I know he is a little shy but all the interviews he has done plus add another one since this GF win.
-His family talking about him.
-His kids

I would buy something like this if nearly 90% of the proceeds went to him.

With this 2 year deal I won't be surprised to see Marlion improve further now he knows how much he is wanted at the club
Agree, should finally be settled in Melbourne come pre season, what a chaotic first 18 months , plus playing in 3 grand finals, best in one, top 3 in another and good in the other one ....amazing

"Pickett ranked #3 at Richmond for tackles, #5 for score launches, #6 for ground ball gets and in the top 10 for goal assists, inside 50s, intercept possessions and metres gained." - from re-signing article on RFC site.
Goes alright this new fella. Reckon he's a keeper. ;)

A lot of talk about how he starts slow in games.

Let's see how he goes if he can have a normal pre-season and season. He came in a mid year draft, debuted in a Grand Final, played in the weirdest year and has 2 flags and only 20 games experience.

More games and a normal season will hopefully see him settled and able to work on any weaknesses. I think the security of a decent contract for 2 years will also help.

Picked up the book today, finished it today. You can get a lot of signed copies in stores right now.

The Richmond part is only about 20%. The life before Richmond is the story.

Hundreds of street fights, out of school by 16, burged cars & shopping centres, smoked ice, tried to kill himself 4 times in jail, not sure he’s ever had or has now got a drivers license, had more adversity than 99% of people but still kept going. The Suns all but promised him they’d take him but he still kept going. Made sure he told Jack Ross he wasn’t playing in the 19 Granny because he felt so bad for him missing the VFL & AFL grand final. Now has two flags but really hasn’t had a “normal” season. Could still be loads of improvement in him.

Not sure there has been or ever will be a more extraordinary time in football than this bloke.

You beat me to it Scoop.

Book available in my local bookstore here in WA. $40. They would have about 50 copies, all personally signed by Marlion, not prints. Poor bloke, reckon his arm would be fit to drop off.

I've been a fan the whole way along.
Maybe not to the extent of Ezy but I think Marlion has been a huge boost for out football club.
A beauty who thoroughly deserves all success.
