Welcome to the Tigers Marlion Pickett!

agree it would be OK if he did.

but he didn't
I was speaking to my neighbour yesterday and his nephews girlfriend (she’s 15 but plays footy and apparently knows her stuff) was at the game. She sat on the wing in seat G13. She reckons Pickett played worse than meatloaf at the 2011 GF. And she was only 6 then.

Big game from Marlion tomorrow night.
Hope so.
Really need a legitimate physical game from him and some polish from his kicks forward.
Our wings are going to be vitally important tomorrow night helping down back, providing an option going forward ( a goal each from them would be a bonus ). Can’t let their wings dominate as , as the Lions did.

Thats like saying JR doesnt jump,

Grimes avoid physical contact,

Or that George is like Matthew Lloyd on a set shot.

I dont want to rub any salt into what is clearly a tough finals series for Melbournians. I feel their pain.

But the fact is, many tigers supporters have seen Marlion play live once. Most have never seen him in the flesh.

Me and Ezy, jr have been fortunate to see him play live probably 7 or 8 times now.

And he brings the same game consistently. Relentless running both ways, incredible hardness at the contest, some breathtaking moves in traffic, putting players in space, and yes, the odd kick that 10m off the mark.

There hasnt been a flawless footballer walk the earth to date. I get that Marlions debut was largely flawless and that the bar was set high,

But ill say it again, because i too enjoy bringing my teammates into the game,

If you think m.pickett isnt best 22, give some strong consideration to the notion that you are wrong

Likely as always that the reality is in between various different viewpoints of Picketts game.

His ball use is relatively poor which for a wing is a problem, however he does appear to work hard an d having not seen him live before I'll cede that to your eyes, but having said that, trying to make out that a mid that gets less than 15 touches and uses the ball as badly as he does, is a top 5 or 6 player or whatever ridiculous statement you made about him is just as bad as stating that his kicking is well below the expected quality.

ive become a bit of a critic, however I don’t give a rats ass what Mr Brightside thinks , Dimma is happy with Marlion and that will do me just fine

she should work for Fox

Big game from Marlion tomorrow night.

Big game for all of em.

Anyone who doesnt do their job tomorrow even if we win likely wont take the field against the Kochies next week.

Caddy and Ross and Markov covers a fair few positions across the field.

Perhaps kicking it to a team mate is an overrated skill, but did anyone see Starcevich, gather the ball at full pace, brush off Baker and hit his team mate on the tit from 45m at breakneck speed at a critical stage during the 4th quarter? Whilst under immense pressure! Thing of beauty.
In the meantime our players struggled to hit the side of a barn under no pressure or at particular speed.
Cotchin kicked directly to the opposition twice in the last, same with Bolton and a couple others. Dusty tries the hero kick from 50m out and on the boundary. George misses Graham from 25m for a certain goal.
Meanwhile Pickett kicks it out of bounds on the full during the game 3 times.
Did I say that kicking is overrated?
Starcevich was awesome, DA. He’s always had wheels but he made us look slow at times. His continued improvement coupled with Zac Bailey’s has made the lions a much better side IMO. And they appear quicker all over the ground all of a sudden.

As for Pickett? He didn’t have a great game last week but he had more than a few mates down on their usual output too. He will tidy up his ball use and look more polished against the saints. He will bounce back. It’s just who he is.

I'd prefer Dimma played Markov on the wing so if he wants to go home to WA at end of this season we should let him. Seen enough turn-over kicks from him this year...and lack of discipline.

Come on Marlion; need a big game from you tonight. Hit the targets and keep the defensive pressure up.

I think you mean SA. Gold Coast are the only team at this stage reportedly into Markov, being a free agent it may take a decent offer to keep him especially considering he can't get a game despite career best form when played this year

He didn’t play a game last year and then got to play the grandfinal. This year he’s played most games and will get dropped a week out...
