Welcome Noah Cumberland

To me Cumbo is summed up by the phrase "it's not the despair that kills you - it's the hope"
I long had hope

Freestyle footballer.
Odd unit. I liked watching him play as clearly had some talent but marched to his own beat & had difficulty sticking to our systems.
His coaches would've hated that.
You can do it if you're Dusty or even Shai to some extent but not if you're a KMart version of those players.
Not to mention his obvious mental demons.
Might get picked up but likely not.

I always had a soft spot for Cumbo, sorry to see him go but I get it. I hope he gets another chance elsewhere

Pace of the AFL was far too quick for him. Took too long to kick the ball, simple as that. Will dominate in lower grade footy,

A bit like Frosty MIller in that sense.

Losing all our tall forwards to injury this year didn't help Cumbo's cause. When he did come in, he was on key position sized palyers like Redman and Scrimshaw. Bot of them destroyed him in the air, with Cumbo unable to even the contests and get the ball to ground. In reality, doing that was never his game. In his first year, his strength was as a foil, chipping in for marks whilst defenders worried about Lynch and JR, or mopping up off the ground and stepping through gaps that most wouldn't have been able to find.

The problem with Cumberland is that once things start going bad, the demons between his ears seem to take hold and the whole thing ends up a train wreck. I think if the right club wer to pick him up, he could ressurect his career.

Probably return to Qld and Dimmesiah will pick him up as a rookie....imagine this happening.
Think that’s the last club he ends up at TF , not sure he and Dimma see eye to eye .

If it wasn’t such a strong draft I reckon he’d have shown enough for certain coaches to think they could get the best out of him, Intresting talent

Bolton last 25 games for Richmond 41 goals. Cumbo 33. One is a star one is a flop.

Lynch 78 in his last 27 by the way.

Im all for keeping this guy especially if we keep McIntosh as a forward.
Truth is both need to go. Lets use our 8 picks in the ND. Wellthat has been made harder just by giving fumble flappers a contract.

Think about it this way. Fumbles or pick 24 in one of the deepest drafts of all time. It is a no Brainer.

Not correct. Whether we keep McIntosh will have no bearing on us taking pick 24.

We have enough list spots for all 8 picks even if we keep Dow and him (Suspect Dow might not get a contract).

Cumberland kicked 19 goals in his first 9 games and 14 in his next 16 games. Bolton also wins far more of the ball.

Cumberland got found out at AFL level. Happens to a lot of players.

Another who was unable to do the fundamental team things required at AFL level maybe?
This.

You only had to be at a VFL game and be close enough to the coaches bench to hear what was being said (yelled) to players on the field and who responded and didn't.
