Welcome Noah Cumberland

After Dimma publicly admonished him he was never the same. Poor man management from Dimma and effectively put a stop to his career then and there.
All the best Cumbo
You are joking aren’t you? If he’s that mentally fragile he may as well live in a cocoon. He’s failed under three coaches now and in his games this year , apart from one he looked like a headless chook. He’s barely VFL standard let alone AFL standard. Move on and we can blame Dimma for some things, but not the Demise of Noah Cumberland.

Don’t really disagree but had plenty of chances since Dimma left to resurrect his career & just didn’t cut it in the end. Hope he goes well elsewhere but would be surprised if he makes it from here.

Yep, we’ll have the Gold Coast Tigers and the Richmond Eagles next year.

occasionally played like a chicken with it's head cut off
but occasionally you need that type of madness
can see why WCE might take him on

He should study sports psychology like his career depends on it. Tells of a poor mindset have been obvious for a while

Cumbo should be trying to get to Chris fagan’s house 🏠 ASAP.
He might go a lot better at Brissy right now and they need to reinvent their forward 6.

I know this goes against the flow of the cumbo bashing going on here.

Can't help feeling that their was a failure of coaching and development with Cumbo.
Clearly had a lot of talent and "AFL traits", but, to me, the club seems to have failed to help him improve his game to the level I think he could have achieved.
I know that he probably could have done a lot more to help himself and you can't go through life blaming others for your failings, but I just feel that he had more to give if we could have helped him a bit more.

Yeah this seems to be something that people keep saying. The club should have done more. Cumbo was treated poorly. Etc etc etc.

But I don’t get it. What is it exactly that the club should have done?

Does anyone really believe Cumbo wasn’t given a set of very clear expectations and a whole lot of coaching? (Of course he was).

That his VFL form over the last couple of years merited more senior opportunities? (It quite obviously didn’t).

That the ability was somehow coached out of him or that his natural Cumbo vibrancy was stifled by evil boomers who just didn’t dig his style? (Fragile much?)

Or maybe he looked promising when surrounded by triple premiership players drawing the heat away from him, but turned out to be a pretty limited, undersized forward with very few other strings to his bow, who struggled to impact at any level for the last couple of years.

I always liked Cumbo, but it’s not the club’s fault he didn’t make it with us. Correct call to delist.

He's had three different head coaches, and a few different line coaches.

Basically when he played outside team rules and on natural talent, he looked OK. As soon as we needed him to chase and defend, he lost himself. He's the 2020's version of Mitch Morton.
He might have a few good games at West Coast, but it was the right thing to do for us to move him on.

Club didn't fail Noah, he failed himself.

He may well improve, getting delisted and going to another club can do that. Don't think he was on a path to improvement at Richmond.

Mansell 53 games 32 goals

Rioli Junior 36 games 26 goals

'Young' Maurice is 22. Had his chance 'crock' Noah is 23.
