Welcome Josh Gibcus

Happy to see him out there again. The last 30secs of the match won me over. Didn't look scared or intimidated at all taking on Coxhead

Our backline will see a lot of ball this season. If he plays most weks, will be high up in our B&F. Played a wonderful game tonight to remind us of his rare aerial talent.

Big step forward but i sure hope we've got a management plan. He's going to get a lot of work.
Dont know if he can play the first 2 games with a 5 day break ......................................................might have to pick 1 and rest the other.

The risk ,may not be worth it.

he's a fair whack of footy porn he is

oozes class

like Aces said, build your team and your tactics around him

I reckon he has been told to kill the ball a lot more. Noticed that he didnt go for those pack marks as much last night

Intercept marks are vitally important in the game so I would be very surprised if Gibcus was TOLD to kill the ball first? the best defenders in the game back themselves to take the mark, (Weitering, Sicily, Stewart and our very own Vlaustin).
Might be just a case he had not quite established himself before his injury, if memory serves me correctly at the end of 2022, (the last time he played), Josh became a bit of spoiler rather going for his marks, (whether he spoilt to the wrong spots or was just unlucky i recall numerous opposition crumbing goals resulting).

So I would be saying back yourself and go for your marks at every opportunity, I still thought he was fantastic last night and above my expectations considering he has now played just 6 quarters in 13 months.

I reckon Grimes used his fists only for about the first 3 years of his career before he became a great intercept defender whilst still having the closing speed to spoil.

Confidence will come, a gun in the making.
