Welcome Josh Gibcus

Cant remember the last time a 19 year old missed an entire season with a hamstring injury. Blokes have ripped their hammies off the bone and come back quicker. An absolute balls up. Seems our fitness and recruiting department are something out of Flying High!

He suffered an internal infection during the surgery.
Very serious and very bad luck.
Nothing to do with the fitness department.
Not sure about the recent aggravation though.

It looks like I picked a bad day to give up……….

Has Josh had a setback and another injury to his hamstring?

If so it might be time to pull the handbrake on him and get him right even if it means he misses the rest of the season.

This kid along with Sambo are our 2 keys going forward to help build a side around.

Send him over seas and get him right whilst we can cover for him.

We dont want a marquee junior hampered/hindered for the rest of his career by jipping around with a serious injury.

Disapointing.

Gibcus tore his hammy 18th January, tomorrow is June and he’s still listed as “medium 4-6 weeks”. This looks like it’s gunna be a 6 month not a 6 week hammy.

Has been ruled out for the rest of the season, disappointing for him, but a common sense decision.

Shouldve been done weeks ago tbh.

Glad they finally came to their senses and agreed with me:))
He experienced more discomfort ( read reinjured ) last week.
They didn’t come to their senses.
They had no choice.
Not sounding good no matter how they spin it.

About Time GIF

If he doesn’t comeback 10kg heavier in muscle after a year to do so, then he ain’t trying or he ain’t got the right fitness guy !

Sheesh. Not good. Poor kid.
Reckon that’s what may have happened…?

Was he training with the main group last week?
Did Caesar mention this or am I wrong.

Not great for the kid being so young, but Grimes was similar and went to Germany and he was able to continue his career.

But, I worry for Gibcus.

Not the kids fault but what an unmitigated disaster of a year.

Serious questions have to be asked.

Heck yeah! How does a hammy end up costing him the season?

I don't get it...

Well i think there wasn't 1 hammy but 2, possibly 3?
If he has done something again it will make 3.

Disaster!!! on the 1st occasion he had 12 weeks rehab and just as he was to play some VFL minutes back in early to mid May , he left the training track during the warm up only.

Report at time said that the good news was that it was in a different spot on the same leg but nothing like the serious first.

However now after a further 10 weeks of rehab he feels discomfort or reinjures hammy after his first limited 1 hour session back with the main group :(
I have concerns for him now, they seem to be at a bit of a loss themselves.

Wasn’t there a post surgery infection as well?
