Young and only just drafted into the AFL system. Can't expect him to play every week before he has had the chance to get fitness and strength levels to AFL standard. He is tracking very well and I reckon a break and then maybe a couple of VFL games and bring him back will be good for his development.

C'mon, it was just a little jab, nothing bombers players arent used to.Rising star for the week josh rachele, but absolutely no mention whatsoever about the hit to the guts he did V Essendon.
Sensible to rest the lad for a week and bring him back refreshed but competition is hotter in our defence so who knows?
Look I tend to agree. He has had a good taste. Showed plenty.
I hope they give him a block of time to work on strength/fitness at some stage during the season. Maybe even rest him some weeks from all forms of football.
He has the skills. Need to get his strength and fitness to level up so he is an option to play on the bigger bodied KPFs and then run off an slay them on the rebound.
I hope he is rested this week and not playing VFL
