Welcome Jacob Blight

Lets hope Blighty becomes a champ and we can start referring to Malcom as Ol' Blighty

Both boys represent flexibility. Toce was clear, they aren't short-term projects that can step in right away, they are long-term projects.

I wouldn't expect either boy to get a gig in the back half of the year, maybe Blight. It's interesting, the depth chart for KP down back at the start of 2025 looks different.

Tylar Young
Josh Gibcus
Ben Miller
Jacob Blight

What order they are in at this point next year is anyone's guess. I would hope that all of them are significantly improved by this time next year.
Young is a puzzle. I watched him in the vfl in 22 before his injury and saw him as a very good prospect and I thought we should take with our first pick, (which went on Smith). Fortunately we got him with our second and he came into the side in place of Tarrant and I thought did an excellent job.

This year though with more pressure applied because of our poor rucking and midfield, he hasn't done as well. Don't know if he is injured or if it has simply been the pressure.

Hoping for a return to his best because his best is certainly good enough.

He'll get back. Second year blues plus increased pressure as you said Momentous. Well, we'll have to wait for next season now anyway.

And a shoulder injury / surgery during preseason.
Missed competitive grappling training. Behind the 8 ball, which is an odd expression.
Will be better next year

Had a interrupted preseason returning from a shoulder surgery, which set him back in fitness training and contested work.

Then being inexperienced with the avalanche of unhindered un pressure footy the opposition has been delivering into their forward 50 at will is a tough bloody contract for all defenders.

I'm not too concerned about Tylar as of right now tbh.

Let him rehab and hit the gym hard and he will bounce back as will the Gibbus.

Yes agree look at Rioli. Fantastic 22, hopeless 23 and then bounced back this year. Young showed genuine ability in 23, so I am still optimistic
