Welcome Hugo Ralphsmith

Very pleased for Hugo and good to see recognition on his rapid rise this season but it amazes me how they work out Rising Stars. Gibcus's performance early on in the season were worth several nominations but none happened. Still we finally got one so have to be happy with that

Should not be playing anywhere near the backline. Looks the goods using his run and dash. Not sure why they have pushed him back there. Seems we sometimes try and invent positions to fit certain players in. If they want him in the backline i prefer Mansell playing that role. Wing or bust for Hugo

He's playing half back, seems a perfect place to use your run and dash much like Dan Rioli

He says we learnt a lot from this game about how to slow the game down when they have momentum. Funny that we didn't learn the same from the St Kilda, Cats or Swans games

It's one thing to learn something, another matter entirely to remember to put that learning to good use when needed.

Happens every time we lose a game or a sequence of games over a short period. We get to learn from our mistakes n rectify them over n over n over again. It's just basic gibber when fronting the meedjia.

Was very engaging on 360. Real character. Didn't expect that. For a young guy handled himself so well.

He has pace, he is willing to take the game on. You can't teach pace. If he can improve decision-making, he has a future.

Won't be an A grader but I think he can be a 10-20 footballer in a good side. Worth peristing with. Core footballer.

Yep I was impressed by the way he handled himself. Said all the right things but not like a robot. Good on him for the nomination.

Am late to the party this week, only getting to the stories of the week right now in my reading.

Gotta say, watching / listening to some of Hugo's videos/radio interviews... very impressive.

Modest, clearly understands and focused on where he needs to improve, respectful to the senior players, mature. Good young man.
Kingsley's impact mentioned a few times.

Kinglsey should be kept, the others need a shake up IMO.

Butcher by foot… I was watching based on the feedback here and have to agree, seriously fast but lacks finish

I thought he was terrible tonight. Non event.
Disappointing after his nomination.
Yeh he was poor. Poor disposal, weak at the contest. Comes across as a great young man, has great running capacity but he's untidy by foot.
