Brisbane will go out in straight sets. Overrated. No flag threat here. 2022 included. Everything I’ve seen this weekend reinforces how we’re still able to come back into contention next year. Our best still competes against these teams.

Yep agree completely. I started going for the swans after the incident because I expect Toby to get weeks. As much as we bag the umps there is no room for that at the highest (or any) level.
I think if Poort and GoDeez make the GF, Poort have just the game and players to test them, unlike this limp performance by the Brisbane kittens.

Just something about Melbourne that makes you wonder whether they fully understand the opportunity they have. Took the foot off at the end of the third and gave Brisbane a sniff. Do they have genuine hunger?
The Lions are pretenders. They have to finish in the top 4 so they can guarantee themselves 2 finals.
Allow me to blow my own trumpet here for a sec.
Some years you get into the draft, some years your team wins the flag and has pick 20 and you don't so much. In my inconsistent attention to the kids over the years, I have declared my love for exactly five players from about halfway through their draft years: Trent Cotchin, Jake Stringer, Marcus Bontempelli, Shai Bolton and Clayton Oliver. Oliver a bit later because he didn't play Champs but I remember someone here telling me he wouldn't go top-20 and thinking, if there are 20 better players than Oliver in this draft either I'm a terrible judge or it's the greatest draft in the history of sports.
