Week 1 AFL Finals Series

I just booked my flights!! Kinda helped a lot of people I guess for the game to be on the saturday night! I hope we get a large yellow & black army up there!

Anyone know what percentage of seat allocation we get for the game as an away team?

good question. Brisbane only have 28,000 members and the Gabba has a capacity of 42,000 (almost 35,000 of which are public seating). I would be disappointed if we aren't allocated at least 10,000 seats. I have no doubt our game was scheduled on Saturday to ensure the Tiger army sell it out.

I’ve just booked my flights. For anyone who’s looking into it the regular airlines are actually gouging less than the budget ones - Jetstar was $660+, whereas Qantas was more like $500. Still plenty of reasonably priced accommodation within walking distance of the Gabba too.

I used a mix of cash and Qantas frequent flyer points and Qantas kept coming up much cheaper than Jetstar. People should also consider flying to the Gold Coast or sunshine coast. There is a 10:25am Tiger flight from Melbourne to Gold Coast that I would have purchased if I had my time over again. still only $119.

Geez, Thursday night 6.10pm local time? The AFL are clearly shafting West Coast fans for the sake of east coast TV ratings. If I was West Coast I would be way more Salty than Scott (is he even salty at the moment, or is that just reserved for us?).

DS

night games in Perth always start at 5:40pm or 6:10pm local time so it can be broadcast early enough on the east coast. They will be used to it.

When Shultz kicked 7
Wasn’t Castagna’s big haul of 4 under lights.

I prefer under lights. It gets slippery and dewy and the little lions besides Neale and Martin get scared at night.

Don't think Luke Hodge gets scared at night, Zipps. Nor Mitch Robinson for that matter.

we will likely play the loser in the prelim, or WEagles (assuming we win), then the winner in the GF.
I reckon a Tigers v Pies GF would be pretty wild, so i guess i hope they win. and then we get to knock the cats out in the prelim. fun around.
Better beat Lions then cause if we dont it looks like the Bulldogs who are running hot hot hot in a knock out... Really dont want to play them in the finals.

But need to take these factors out of the margin
- home ground advantage
- umpires
- Hardwick
- Short & Ellis

= 23 point win

It's incredible that salty cats record is
0 wins. 6 losses last 6 AFL games away from home.

Stop it.. don't tease
Shiittpricks.. no wonder he is whinging about playing away from that dughole down there.
i've never said this in my entire life...GO PIES!!!

While I think we would beat Collingwood or Geelong, I would rather Geelong win as they are the lesser threat.

But we could get the loser in a Prelim anyway , should we beat Brisbane

Just looked at the long range forecast in Brisbane, saying 22 degrees, should be a bit cooler at night ,

Spring weather hits Melbourne next week, no rain 18-19 degrees most days, so we get to train in similar conditions minus a bit of humidity

As long as both sides flog the living suit case out of one another ( all the other finals teams for that matter ) in games I'll be content. I'm happy for players from opposing teams to be creaking n groaning by the time we get to play them.

*smile* me, what a rip off. I'm flying to Phuket n back for less than a one way to Brisvegas. Get to spend a week vegging out n even got some left over beer money to help me get through, before I match those air fares. Get back nicely in time to veg some more n watch the first final from the comfort of my personal arm chair with some more beers to hand.
